Been there a week or so. It is a pretty heavily used bike route by staff and students at the University and not well lit at night, so it's not obvious for cyclists going down hill at 20mph plus.

Taking up two car spaces, 30th October
The DEU company are quite frankly taking liberties now with their parking they have. A business that is located on another street but yet they a take up over 10+ car parking spaces, they park illegally on double yellow lines or take up up to two car spaces. It is rather unfair and inconvenient for the residents that live here who are struggling to find parking. This issue has been going on for too many years and it has been voiced to them by several people. The parking permits need to be issued immediately so that the vulnerable and local housed people can park their cars near their house not many streets away.

Hawthorn, brambles and bushes overgrown into road, 28th September
The council owns a small square of land (behind a green metal fence) at the top of Talbot Avenue. It has not been maintained since the start of the pandemic. It was previously left as grass and cut occasionally, but has now been abandoned to hawthorn, ivy, brambles and convuvulus. The bushes and brambles are overgrown and swallowing up more and more of the road at the top end of Talbot Avenue. Because the bushes are not maintained, they trap litter and limit access. Both road and pavement are blocked by vegetation originating from the unmaintained piece of council-owned land. No one from the council has entered the land or cleared the area around the fence at the top of the road for three and a half years. The vegetation is slowly advancing down the road. Ideally the plot of council land should be cut back annually at the end of the growing season to allow pollinator-friendly plants and flowers to thrive without it becoming a complete wasteland. One visit a year in autumn /winter could be enough keep it in order. But if the land can't be maintained, then the road at least should be kept clear.
