Parking nuisance, 2nd July
Today my wife was forced to push my son in his pram into the middle of the road due to the inconsiderate parking of a motorist. Part of the road where she needed to walk into is a blind corner. On the other side of the bridge is a bend where cars can travel a great speed. I am very unhappy and wish for you to contact the driver of the car illustrating why they have caused such a dangerous situation.
I have taken a picture of this problem and I would be happy to share it with you upon request.
Kind regards, M O'Leary

This continues to be a problem that NYCC keep ignoring. Dangerous pothole, 11th November
I’ve been reporting this since January 2021 Someone came and put two new barriers in the potholes earlier this week. Left the old ones discarded at the side of the road. Doesn’t achieve anything the one of the barriers have been hit and are now laid with the rest. Is anything ever going to be done about this ? No response from the council.

No response from the council, 9th November
No response from the council or the highways. Someone has been and totally ignored the fallen orange barriers and placed two new ones in the road erosion and deep water. The road is narrow when vehicles are parked already dangerous enough without traffic having two orange barriers and a pile of old orange barriers to avoid Not acceptable.

Massive pothole road erosion flooding, 3rd November
I’ve been reporting this pothole for well over a year now. As you can see nothings been done. Just orange barrier fencing that doesn’t last a day before it’s been flattened. It’s a hazard. It’s dangerous to other road users. It damages vehicles. There has been road closures in place recently and this road has taken the brunt of the traffic which has been horrific . It’s infuriating that the highways budget can be blown resurfacing harrogate road that didn’t need doing but this just gets left. I’d like a response with a contact number or email to get this sorted.

Diversion Loop and Incorrect Signage, 28th June
Following diversion takes driver on a 45 minute loop. The sign advises road closed, but in actual fact one can get to farnley without issues.
I needed to be 1 minute up the road, but as the road closed sign is across the road, I followed the diversion, and spent 25 minutes until eventually another road closed sign appears with a reverse diversion, finally following another route once again a road closed sign.
Signage is not clear the diversion is a further 2-3 miles up the road, the diversion is broken, and the result is costly and dangerous

Potholes reported and abandoned, 23rd January
I have reported the pot holes and drainage on this corner previously, The council were quick to come out and erect the orange plastic and road signs. Since then nothing has been done and I can’t find my original report either. The temporary orange fencing is useless and is now flattened into the potholes. Just a hazard to road users. It’s difficult to see as there are no street lights here and it’s obviously very dark in the winter months.

Huge pot hole / road erosion, 19th July
In the last 12 months this hole has got bigger and bigger, There have been several large cones placed there that were left after an accident. The drain here is also blocked so water cannot get away it floods and holds water which causes a serious hazard to road users who cannot then see the size and depth of the hole in the road. There have been several tyres damaged at this site and it is becoming more of a hazard. It’s quite a tight corner if vehicles are parked on the opposite side.
