Rock at side of road on approach to blind bend, 4th May
There is a rock sticking out from an earth bank on the left of the road as you drive down. It is on the approach to a blind bend so most drivers will want to keep left to avoid the risk of a head-on collision. It is bad enough to damage tyres / wheels.

Potholes, 17th March
Castley Lane LS21 2PY. There are too many potholes to report individually. The worst ones are between OS map reference SE269465 and SE257458. This is a single track road in places which has been badly eroded by the weather, flooding and a diversion put in place in both directions by the police following a road accident on the A658 in December. It is now impossible to drive the road without entering a pothole as they are often opposite one another or across the road. It is fortuitous that an accident has not yet occurred especially at night. Please help.

Potholes, 22nd November
There are two (2) potholes opposite one another at this point on Castley Lane. The road is narrow, single track and the potholes are now wide enough that it is almost impossible to avoid one or other when driving on the lane. It is becoming increasingly dangerous for cyclists who use this road (to avoid the main road A658) as the whole road is littered with potholes and surface debris.

Blocked land drain, 22nd November
The area marked by my arrow is the straight stretch of downhill single track road. It has now hidden 4 (four)Land drains which are totally blocked causing rain water run off from the road north (uphill) to run down the road to the bend at the bottom and into the ditch outside White House Farm which is now full of debris and and overflows onto the road causing flooding. The road is itself being worn away causing an increased number of potholes.

Pothole, 12th June

Missing manhole cover, 21st February
The manhole cover went missing in the summer of 2011 and the Harrogate Council put a cone in the hole which is regularily hit by cars and is round a blind bend. It is amazing that someone has not fallen down the hole or that a major car accident has not occurred. Other manhole covers in the area which have gone missing have been replaced by new ones but not this one!!!!
