Thick mud on road, 25th October

Wed, 25 Oct 2023 13:43:42 +0100
53.87208 -1.451237

Top of Moss Syke leads to farmland. Two weeks potato harvesting left couple of inches dry mud first week, not much hazard. Second week has seen wet weather now 2-3 inches of thick wet mud is a dangerous hazard for the 20 vehicles using our close. The hazard continues onto Syke Lane and beyond to A58 getting progressively less but still hazardous and slippy when wet. Crucially all these hazard problems can be prevented as there is better access to the same land off the A58 and previously farmers used it because of the same hazard issues which now prevail in Moss Syke and beyond. There have been no warning signs nor any liaison with residents about cleaning the road.

We have continued to cut the hedge on our side at 27 woodacre green, however the hedge on the 25 woodacre green side needs desperately cutting as it isovergrown. The hedge has become particularly high and unkept from June to September 2019.

53.8816052201018 -1.46658079629511

There is one very large pot hole on here which will do damage to something or someone very soon if it isn't fixed, especially due to the amount of bikes and horses that come down here. This was reported last year but nothing was done about it. Aside from the very large pot hole, there are a number of other smaller holes and the general surface from wike lane down to the ford is very poor.
