20 inch pothole outside 3 The Boyle, 11th March

Sat, 11 Mar 2023 09:12:44 +0000
53.832562 -1.394554

A big concern is that this pothole is right above a water mains pipe or waste water pipe. It has been here for a few months and probably been caused or exacerbated by the heavy vehicles that ignore the "no heavy vehicle" sign at the start of the road.

Destruction of Hedgerow and new road entrance, 27th September

Tue, 27 Sep 2022 08:48:38 +0100
53.832187 -1.399663

The landowner on Rakehill Road who owns the field on the southern side of the road immediately after the small commercial holding at the bottom of the Boyle, see attached photo, has torn down a hedge and made a new entrance into the field off the road which, as far as I know in light of the drainage ditch it crosses, is not a re-establishment of an old entrance and as far as I am aware there was no planning permission sought for this. It is further and unncecssary destruction of nature in the countrysinde. The filed is an agricultural field which has been divided up to be let to several horseowners. As far as I know there is nothing wrong with this as far as change of use is concerned as I do not think that the people who keep ther horses there ride them but I am disgusted by the unnecessary destriction of a well established hedgerow and trees which were in this location.

Sharp stonework projecting into roadway, 10th July

Sun, 10 Jul 2022 10:28:28 +0100
53.844671 -1.391217

Fixed stonework is projecting into the road carriageway. The stones are just around the corner from the junction with Potterton Lane and have sharp edges and are raised above the road surface. They have tarmac around them, indicating that they were known about and were left insitu when the road was last resurfaced. Car struck the stonework as came onto Kiddal Lane, slashing the nearside front tyre. Speaking with resident of the nearby farm, this was the second such incident in the last few weeks. Previously a 4 x 4 had suffered similar trye damage.

Very large tree more then double hight of houses and growing rapidly leaning and regularly dropping extremely large branches on neighbouring gardens where very young children play and cars are parked. This tree in the garden of a council house has become very dangerous recently with huge branches falling off into neighbouring gardens regularly. Have spoken to people living in the house but the are not willing to pay cost of doing anything about this

Cars parking at the side of chapel lane, 8th June

Thu, 08 Jun 2017 07:56:12 +0100
53.829184 -1.392232

I reported this a few weeks ago and haven't had any reply. Houses with drives still have cars parked outside them on the road blocking it. There is always a British gas van parked on the corner now which means the corner is simply blocked for any vehicle larger than a car. Also near the school houses opposite leave cars on the road. People who live in houses the same side as the school don't have drives as they're lower than the road and can't so everyone parks cars on that side.when people opposite park cars outside their houses it blocks the road. Today a large van couldn't get through and had to reverse all the way backroom the village hall. People with drives parking their cars on the road outside is blocking the road and making it DANGEROUS as there are a lot of people who walk to the school. We need resident permits for the houses whisper have drives so people who have off road parking stop blocking the road.

Too many cars park and block the street, 21st May

Sun, 21 May 2017 17:43:06 +0100
53.829952 -1.391702

People who live opposite the miners institute always have loads of people over who park and block the footpath and street. I think it's the house on the corner. There is a perfectly good car park at the village hall they can use only 100m away. Please can this be stopped or can we start residents parking so only people without a drive can park on the road and there are limited guest passes for those households. The bin wagon and other big vehicles have been unable to get through before and it's getting worse and worse. I attach photos showing how cars block the path and how little room there Iain the street. What if a fire engine had to get through in an emergency?

Some of Long Lane/Barwick road has been resurfaced and is excellent. The strip between has not and is falling apart. Particularly along the stretch between the golf club and the corner in the approximate location on the map. The deteriorated road has created a very uneven and bumpy surface which is very rough to drive over.
