"Pedestrians Crossing" warning light that is triggered to come on automatically when people approach the crossing on foot is constantly on all day every day. It's been like this for over a week.

Faulty automatic sign, 21st February
At the A590 junction with Brow Edge Road, Backbarrow (SD 3568 8485 approx) there is a pedestrian crossing with automatic warning signs on the main road. The warning sign to the south of the crossing stays permanently on when it is raining. (That to the north appears to work correctly.)

Road sign turned backwards, 20th February
Thanks to Highways for sorting the other same issue nearby but someone has now turned the 20mph sign a little further along around also, meaning it’s showing 30mph Please would you also resolve this? Many thanks

Road signs have been reversed, 7th February
Three road signs have been tampered with and reversed, so instead of showing a 30mph zone is currently says it’s national speed limit for a small road that goes past a school The issue has been for two weeks and is now endangering young children

Excessive standing floodwater on duel carriageway Between Backbarrow and Newby Bridge)., 9th December
Excessive flood water on duel carriageway (In the direction of Newby Bridge). This section of road is poorly lit and you can’t see the standing water until the last minute. I past this location around 1 hour ago and had to break hard to avoid hitting the water. The water is fairly deep and a danger to traffic.

Barriers stll left on private car park at Backbarrow A590, 31st January
Would be grateful if you could arrange to remove the barriers that have been lying there for a few months now since the road improvements were finished. They have been left on the private car park off the A590 just past the Brow Edge Road turn off. Thank you.

Temporary road sign not removed after works finished., 26th January
Temporary 50mph road sign not removed after about 2months. Road works were present about a month ago and seemed to be completed after a few days. 50mph road signs are still up, causing traffic to slow down for no reason causing unnecessary congestion

50 limit for road works still in place, 24th December

There are still signs in place for the 50 limit, that was put in place for the for road works at Backbarrow are still in place, despite the road works having been completed.

Lights not working on central island at pedestrian crossing, 15th August
The "lollipop" lights (there are 2) are both not working on the central island where pedestrians cross the A590 road at the bottom of Brow Edge, Backbarrow. So, when pedestrians are waiting in the middle of the A590 when crossing in the dark no-one can see them! These have been out for a few weeks now. Thanks

Bricks & Debris In Road, 10th March
I went out yesterday to visit the motor museum when I hit something in the road, I had then pulled over to find a bulge in my tyre which had caused internal damage. I stopped at the nearest garage 3 minutes down the road in which a replacement economy tyre was needed. The gentleman at the repair shop stated this is not the first time it has caused a blow on a car. We went back to visit the road on the way back and noticed there has been several walls broken and bricks on the road, these have been cleared and traffic cones. The hard plastic rubber located at the bottom of the traffic cones have been broken off and landed in the middle of the road. There are severe pieces which are scattered across the road including large bricks from the walls.

Several vehicles regularly park here, on double yellow lines, which obscures the view of any oncoming traffic. The yellow lines are hidden by stones and dirt and need to be made more obvious. This has been a problem for years. I informed our local councillor with no satisfactory outcome., 28th June
No traffic wardens ever visit the village and without any action being taken, residents will continue to park there, causing an obstruction of the view of any oncoming traffic.

The 'Keep left' traffic island sign is not illuminated. Again., 16th November
The light under the translucent plastic 'keep left' bollard at the junction has failed again. There are no other lights at this junction so it makes it difficult to see the turning.

Row of high trees along A590 are overhanging garden and parking areas, 5th May
There is a long row of trees which line the A590, along Brow Edge, which are overhanging the gardens and houses in Abbots Vue. I know a neighbour recently had some work done to crop a couple of these back which was done by yourselves and I have previously paid £££ to have them cut back. I would very much appreciate these trees being cut right back down to size to allow light to reach the houses, gardens and parking area on Abbots Vue. Many Thanks. Paul Coulson.
