FIXMYSTREET IN KY3 0TQ
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of KY3 0TQ:
The landfill refuse has not been collected from Inch Avenue. Phone calls to the centre went unanswered, literally. Visit to council offices meant complaint was logged. Gale blew several bins over, with litter flying around,, 16th June
What is wrong is that no-one seems to care about an unsavoury problem, and the reporting process simply does not work.

The pavement in Bellhouse Road is in a terrible state despite having had a repair crew out recently. They filled in one hole and ignored the rest. Today my 4-year-old had another accident with his scooter because of the state of the pavement. He was lucky not to be seriously hurt. The worst areas are opposite 3-7 Bellhouse Road, also between 38 and 36 Bellhouse Road., 9th September
The problem has been there since the street lights have been replaced. This caused subsidence. Last week we got the impression that this was going to be repaired. However, only one hole was filled in. My son has had several accidents caused by the holes in the pavement. He has had a lucky escape so far and not got seriously hurt. There are several elderly people living in this street who have difficulties walking. Some have to walk on the street as the uneven pavement is too dangerous for them. This is an unacceptable situation. It is also difficult to push buggies with the state the pavement is in. Can we please get this fixed once and for all. Please no more rubbish quick fixes that only last for a few weeks.

Dangerous hole East of the one already marked on South kerbside between houses 3 and 4 Inverkeithing Rd, 7th August
South Kerbside of Inverkeithing Road, Wester Aberdour (between houses 3 and 4) to the East of the one already marked for repair (and there is another one not far away to the West).
Time, trouble, the expense of additional visits and possible injury or worse to a road user could be saved if whoever marks a hole for repair checked at least 100m each side in case there are others nearby. Even better if council employees could be encouraged to report dangerous roads encountered when travelling to work.
In this instance there are other holes each side of the one already marked ie 20m to the West and to the East between houses 3 and 4 on Inverkeithing Road.
Thanks for your help in making our roads safe.

Dangerous holes/subsidence in the Pavement: East Side of Bellhouse Rd between the intersections with Dovecot Park and Inch Av., 5th August
The unconsolidated temporary repair strip on the East side of the pavement adjacent to kerb has caused subsidence resulting in dangerous holes (already marked for repair) and a near continuous uneven depression between and beyond them. This is a result of a temporary ‘rush job’ in refilling the trench following the installation the new street lighting a few years ago.
Continuation of the pavement resurfacing project including the replacement of the kerbs in Dovecot Park was promised the following spring. This was never done and the temporary infilling is no longer serviceable and is a danger to pedestrians. The result is a series of dangerous uneven depressions and holes.
Further ‘patching up’ of the holes already marked will probably make matters worse, especially for older residents, mothers with push chairs and young children. The time has come to complete the permanent pavement and kerb renewal which is overdue.

Deep dangerous depressions in pavement., 2nd August
Renewal of pavement in Bellhouse Road was promised several years ago to be completed the following year. There has been no action to date and it is only a matter of time before someone falls and injures themselves. It is particularly bad on the East pavement towards the junction with Dovecot Park where there is substantial subsidence following an earlier partial repair following damage caused when new street lighting was installed.

4 dangerous pot holes - dovecot park, 18th November
These are now a DANGEROUS HAZARD to ROAD USERS & PEDESTRIANS and each of the 4 should be marked with a TRAFFIC CONE to avoid a dangerous accident at or near the junction of Dovecote Park and the High Street.
Location: Before the Gate 1 Centre of road near to Junction, beyond the Gate 2 near the speed humps (1 on each side of the road) and a further 1 in the Centre of the road just beyond. IF THESE CANNOT BE MARKED WITH TRAFFIC CONES & A WARNING SIGN, THEN A ONE WAY TRAFFIC SYTEM & PARKING RESTRICTIONS needs to be in force until they can be REPAIRED PROPERLY - yet more TEMPORARY REPAIRS WILL NOT CURE THIS PROBLEM!
Expediting a PROPER REPAIR to the road in this area will be much appreciated by all road users and might help to prevent an accident and/or expensive claims on the Council. This has been a recurring problem over several years and previous TEMPORARY repairs have not lasted long enough TO solve the problem.
