Inadequate lighting at road works on approach to bridge on North side. It is very dangerous at night., 11th December
I am an infrequent traveller to Edinburgh. On Thursday 8th Dec. evening I was totally confused with the arrangements of the lanes on the approach road to the bridge from the North. What made it more difficult was the inadequate lighting of the road. This work should be lit up like a Christmas tree. The same applies to the chicanes in the road on the North bound lane on the North side of the bridge. They are in total darkness. I was travelling at an average of 30 mph.

26 potholes, 17 deeper than 50p, 9 deeper than 20p, 21st August
Ferry Road is only 1/4 Mike long. Now has 26 deep potholes, most are steep sides creating a danger, particularly to cyclists as these would easily case a rider to fall over, possibly into the path of a vehicle. The photos are just an example; there is a vertical 50p piece in each photo. They have been there for many months, but have deteriorated significantly recently.

Constand sharp metal debris form the loca scrap yard, 14th July
There is a scrap/salvage yard which receives several (overflowing) shipments via lorry of miscellaneous scrap metal. As a result there are always sharp bits of metal on the road near the entrance which results in numerous unnecessary flat tyres each year and could pose a health risk to the many dog walkers that use this road as part of the Fife Coastal Trail.

Traffic congestion at Town Pier and turning circle and inadequate road markings, 18th April
Double yellow lines worn away
And details:
Residents at Pierhead, North Queensferry are experiencing considerable nuisance from motorists and boat operators parking in the turning circle at the end of Main Street, at the head of the town pier.
The double yellow lines are faded and worn and many drivers are ignoring them. When challenged politely about parking there some drivers have suggested that the parking restrictions don't apply because the yellow lines are not continuous.
Some drivers (and especially local commercial boat operators) park on the pier itself to avoid the yellow lines, but this is unsafe since the pier can be slippery and has no barrier to prevent vehicles plunging over the edge.
The issue is causing particular nuisance for local residents, both with regard to property access and parking and in terms of safety for pedestrian use of this important public space.

Blocked pavement, 22nd August
The property at 2 Brock street has an unkept garden and the bushes are now overgrown and blocking the path. The overhang is forcing school children to walk on the road or indeed cross over and back, this is a very busy road at school drop off and collection times. The garden has now become not only an eyesore but I am concerned it is a safety issue as well. Many thanks.

Potholes, 28th March
Massive increase in the number of potholes on the access road into North Queensferry. As increasing levels of heavy plant make use of the road whilst working on the Forth Crossing replacement, the road surface is deteriorating to the point it is dangerous to drive on. Both of our cars have been damaged by potholes, including a burst tyre caused by one particularly deep hole and broken suspension caused by the surface in general.
In addition to this the levels of plant machinery are causing the road to become incredibly dirty. Aside from the fact this is a massive inconvenience, costing local residents £££ in car cleaning costs, mud on the road is highly dangerous (particularly if you have to stop quickly to avoid a car swerving to avoid a pothole!) Efforts are being made to keep the road clean, but spraying water onto the roads in freezing conditions is just exacerbating the issue.
