Unfinished road with raised ironworks, 28th April

Sun, 28 Apr 2024 13:34:18 +0100
52.005307 1.054675

The road into Little Tufts is still unfinished months after Persimmon have left site. There are raised ironworks causing a hazard for cars. The road has not had a top layer of tarmac meaning that the road doesn't meet the level of the kerb stones. This causes a trip hazard to pedestrians when crossing the road. Cars parked in the layby need to be careful opening doors as there is a risk they will hit the kerb stones/footpath.

8 months and still not complete, the Little Tufts Road leading to the Samford Gardens development has yet to receive a top layer and exposed iron works are creating an ongoing safety issue for cars and pedestrians. Can this be looked into asap please it is an eyesore, lack of junction markings also pose a huge safety issue for pedestrians.

The bollard at the junction with Bentley Hall Road and A12 has lost its light and has lost its colour. VERY DANGEROUS! Can’t see the road entrance. I’ve been reporting this for 2 years with no success, I keep being told that I’m reporting to the wrong department. This is my 6th attempt!

Pothole, 19th November

Sun, 19 Nov 2023 17:08:47 +0000
52.013216 1.06796

There's a sizeable pothole on the Southbound sliproad onto the A12. It's big enough to cause damage to vehicles, especially since they will have gathered nearly enough speed to join the main trunk road as they reach this point. The slip road consists of two lanes. The pothole is in the right-hand lane (the lane that vehicles must use to join the A12 towards Colchester).

60 mph limit inappropriate, 29th June

Thu, 29 Jun 2023 14:05:00 +0100
52.0068 1.025108

The C470 between Capel St Mary and Great Wenham has a 60 mph speed limit. The traffic has increased substantially on this rural road which has no pavements and the limit is far too high. As 60 is unsafe this needs to be changed as soon as possible.

30mph Main Sign on entry to village, 29th June

Thu, 29 Jun 2023 13:58:38 +0100
52.007005 1.021074

Sign has slid down pole and is damaged. Vegetation normally makes this invisible. It is at the start of the 30mph limit and is very important as the increased traffic on the C470 makes this road very dangerous. The 30mph roundle on the road was covered over 8 years ago and not replaced. The sign has also been like this for this entire period despite being reported.

Column 449 exposed electrical equipment, 2nd June

Fri, 02 Jun 2023 17:25:21 +0100
52.00765 1.061663

I reported that the access door was missing from lighting column 449 on 13 April 2023 with your reference 4436460; your response was that you have notified your electrical service team who will investigate the matter. I have looked at the column today and the access door is still missing. The case is closed therefore it must be the case that your electrical service team have inspected the column and they consider exposed electrical equipment is acceptable but if that is the case please explain why money is being wasted by purchasing access doors for columns generally across the country. Please respond

Indiscernible footpath, 28th May

Sun, 28 May 2023 22:35:13 +0100
51.989961 1.040572

Footpath No. 34 on the Suffolk County Council - Capel St Mary definitive map runs across two fields. Both have been planted with crops and the footpath across them is indiscernible. Also, a hedge has been planted along the track which divides the two fields and across the footpath. Once the hedge grows, this will form a physical barrier across the footpath. This footpath forms a direct link between the two villages of Capel St Mary and East Bergholt.
