Exposed electricity cable, 16th February
The cable is exposed with a yellow warning tape saying there is a "live cable buried below" also exposed. The outer protective sheath for the cable is split near the point where the cable exits the sand bank exposing the metal sheath.

Damage to play area, 4th February
Most of the steps to the play ground have been broken off and part of it is by swings. Lots of mess left. Generally bad maintained anyway but clearly someone has been silly here overnight

Flytipping and excess rubbish, 7th January
Hi there,
I live at Duncans Place in Southwold and our communal bin area is full of fly tipping and excess rubbish. It’s so bad that the bin men have been refusing to collect and empty the bins and the bins are overflowing. Please can this be addressed. Unfortunately this is a common occurrence. I suggest maybe another green and blue bin is needed as the bins are always overflowing which leads to the refusal of collection. I’m not sure what the solution is to with the flytipping. I would suggest signs. The flytipping causes obstruction to the bins.

Damaged storm drain outlet, 4th August
There is a storm drain located underneath beach hut 147 which is located 4 huts away from Susies Cafe, IP18 6EL. The outlet from the storm drain runs underneath the promenade on to the beach. East Suffolk Council do not own the land and Anglian Water do not have ownership of the outlet. We are led to believe this is Highways, The outlet is damaged and causing the storm drain to overflow on a regular basis, Please could this be investigated and rectified. Regards, Connie.

More Fly Tipping at Duncans Place, 30th May
More fly tipping at Duncans Place - since the last report of two leather sofas, a suitcase and baby chair we have now acquired a lawn mower, mattress, bed frame, a bin full of wet hamster bedding/rubbish and a large rectangular object covered by a bin bag in the corner.

Blocked drain, 15th May
The drain regularly gets blocked - then when it rains water builds up along the side of road. This has lead to a dip developing which when covered with water cannot be seen and cars drive through it. I can foresee this becoming a pothole in the future and this is solely due to the drain being blocked. The road and path is used for school access.

Continuous flytipping, 14th May
The communal bin area in Duncans Place has become a hot spot for flytipping. Unfortunately there are two large leather arm chairs, a baby’s seat/rocker, suitcase, metal shelving unit and curtains have been dumped in the bin area. In the past we have had washing machines, carpet rolls, tv stands and all sorts. One of the leather armchairs has been there for several months. Unfortunately, the issue keeps growing and it has now become a health and safety issue as our poor bin men are unable to access the bins due to the large obstacles in their way, they refuse to pick them up/empty them (and I don’t blame them) as they are overflowing with curtains etc. Unfortunately, we are unable to access our own bins due to the chairs and various hazards in the way.

‘Repaired’ potholes, 18th March

12 inch pothole 4 inches deep., 3rd February
Pot hole has been there roughly 10 weeks . There are many retired people who live in the area and this causes issues for them . From an H&S view this needs to be addressed.

4 x foot long potholes, 3rd February
Yesterday i fell and sprained my ankle on one of these 4 potholes along side the yellow lines outside the red lion pub on the corner of pinkneys lane and south green in southwold. its a walkway and very dangerous

Numerous potholes leading to cars swerving and driving dangerously to avoid them, 16th January
Between the junction at Mights Road to the junction with Marlborough Road, Pier Avenue Southwold has developed a significant amount of potholes of varying sizes in both lanes of the road. This is resulting in cars swerving from one side of the road to the other in order to avoid them and consequently it means that drivers approaching from the other direction are having to take avoiding action. Pier Avenue leads to a major carpark and is very busy.
