White posts, 28th December
Several white posts have been placed into the ground and this is making getting to the side of the road for a car is pass very difficult, without causing damage to your own car. Recently I've ended up having to reverse down the hill and round the blind bend and I was so lucky that I didn't get run into causing an accident and cost.

Fallen retaining wall, 12th May
The retaining wall opposite the Cof E school has collapsed and the rubble remains strewn across the highway as it was some six or more months ago. The diversion is not ideal being bendy and narrow unsuitable for larger vehicles. It is surely unacceptable for the collapse to remain untreated for so long and to inconvenience all the local residents

Potholes, 19th March
Several potholes and now I have a burst tyre
Report on FixMyStreet
Several potholes in a group a hundred meters or so past the 30mph signs coming out of Kirkby Malzeard., 17th March
May I suggest that the approach should not be to mark all potholes to be fixed and then do only those, but rather to go along the whole loop of Ringbeck Road from Kirkby all the way back to Grewelthorpe and fix all potholes, broken road edges and minor imperfections in one go which will reduce the need to return again and again to fix more of them. The recent bad weather has caused many potholes to appear which could have been prevented by simple patching before frost and rain got a chance to open them up.

Blocked Gulley, 23rd November
This problem was first reported and acknowledged by North Yorkshire County Council over five years ago.
See: https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/263196. Timed: 20.04. Date: Fri 6 July 2012.
The gully fills and overflows even after quite moderate rain. It is a critical gully as it is the only one for the whole length of Back Lane uphill to the west and is supposed to catch the surface water before it floods further down Back Lane. It used to flood out to Main Street but the levels were changed when the road was recently resurfaced.
The outlet from the gully joins the new drainage system at the manhole on the corner of The Green and Main Street. This manhole was recently cleaned out having been completely choked for years.
