Inadequate Signage for Roadworks, 1st December
The bridge is closed for work with traffic lights either side, however, there is inadequate signage leading up to it. Coming from the Ripon direction heading toward Risplith there is a blind bend on a steep hill, then temporary traffic lights. When a few cars are backed up at the lights this is very dangerous as other traffic comes around the bend often quite fast. Today a truck nearly rear ended the car behind me.

A large and dangerous pothole on the edge of the pub car park. Due to a lack of suitable parking because of construction works within the pub car park , pub customers are now parking on the roadside therefore greatly narrowing the carriageway meaning it is very difficult for traffic to avoid the pothole when passing through the village

Large Pot Hole, 13th December
Please can someone arrange to have the large pothole on Azerley Lane filled at your earliest possible convenience.
You will see the severity from the attached photographs. Vehicles and machinery are now damaging the grass verge on the other side of the lane due to avoiding the large pothole, which although marked up for repair, remains unrepaired & unacceptable. I look forward to your confirmation this will be done, and indeed when, I can then pass this information back onto concerned residents.

Blocked Drains Causing Tarmac To Erode, Needs Fixing Now., 20th November
A 2 year investigation by NYCC, Highways and Yorkshire Water to determine that blocked drains or cracked drain pipes are causing almost constant water running down the road in front of Foxgloves and Primrose Cottage. The water has created a channel in the tarmac in front of these two properties. The channel is constantly filling with mud and leaves, which then go into the drains, further exasperating the already existent problem. It was confirmed by NYCC that works would be carried out to the tarmac and drains BUT after the Tor De Yorkshire Cycle race (due to work teams busy tarmacking other roads in preparation) The work is now overdue. NYCC and Highways have both been chased up 2 months ago by the Parish Council and no response has been received as yet.

Persistent dog fouling, 4th March
The footpath linking Low Grantley to the village of Grantley is being used by dog walkers who persistently allow their dogs to foul along the length of the route and do not clear it up. The path is popular with walkers, runners and cyclists. My children use the footpath daily to walk to Grantley for their school buses. I would like to request that the path is cleaned up and that some signage is introduced at both ends warning dog owners of the fixed penalties.

Fallen road sign, 7th March
"caution turning traffic" road sign completely flat due to being knocked on several occasions by grass verge cutting contractors. The sign was erected to highlight to fast travelling traffic that there is a concealed entrance where slow moving vehicles may be entering and exiting. The highways dept have been alerted to this problem by phone many times since June 2013 but have so far have taken no action. The sign on the other side of the road before the bend is also leaning but not yet fallen over. When the grass grows the cutters will not be able to see the sign and will probably wreck it and their machinary
