Manhole cover rattling - causing loud banging noise, 9th March
These photos are taken on Keighley Road, near the top of the steps that lead down onto Lees Road.
Keighley Road was resurfaced Dec 2023. The surface has cracked and now this manhole cover has started making a loud rattling noise when cars go over it. I live on Lees Road and the noise is very disturbing. Neighbours feel the same way so am reporting the issue to get it fixed ASAP.
I also have videos of the noise when cars drive over it, but wasn’t able to upload the videos to this message.

Broken land drain on private land is persistently flooding public footpath `, 30th January
There is a broken land drain in the field adjacent to the footpath. The water floods the footpath during rain and for days afterwards, this makes the footpath difficult and dangerous to use, essentially it's like walking up a brook. The water flows down and ends up on Sandy Gate. Drainage in the field needs fixing as it affects neighbouring properties and facilities. Is it possible to enforce this with the landowner? Thank you

Cars continue to park on double yellow lines also covering the traffic lines to go over the bridge, 9th November
Double yellow lines start just before the traffic lights, people park multiple cars on the double yellow lines and on and past the traffic lights going up to fairfield. I believe the street is called Primrose terrace…this is happening on a daily basis. This road has parked cars all along it as it is not a pay and display area but people continue to park past the free parking area leading onto the yellow lines all up towards the bridge past the traffic lights so you can not stop your car before the red light.

Right of way, public access from Westfield estate to 35-42 Westfield. Blocked by weeds, nettles and thistles, 31st July
Access path used by children, older people and residents to access school, shop, neighbours. This was reported and badly 'weeded' last year. It is completely inaccessible to small children who get stung by nettles. We have lived here for 46 years and last year and this year are the first times it has been left on this state. Calderdale weeded last year but left roots and the discarded material on the path to reroot

Blocked Drain, 31st July
This is always a problem and when it rains you can’t walk by without being soaked by passing cars. There are two drains, the higher one seems to work ok but the water stays once it’s only covering the lower one. This still leaves a large amount of water and takes a long time to drain away.

Urgent Bridge Safety Concern: Parapet and Fence Hazards on River Calder Bridge, 9th July
I am writing to bring to your immediate attention a critical safety issue regarding the bridge over the River Calder, located behind the former Walkey's Clog Site. The current condition of the bridge parapet and fence poses a significant danger to both pedestrians and motorists in the area.
During my recent observation, I noticed several alarming hazards that require urgent attention. Firstly, the fence along the parapet wall is damaged and missing in places, showing signs of severe deterioration. Furthermore, there is a dangerous hole in the roadway, positioned adjacent to the right side of the parapet wall. Disturbingly, this hole is currently concealed by a decaying piece of wood, presenting an unsuspecting risk to anyone using the bridge.
Today, I witnessed a group of children on the bridge, leaning over the parapet and clinging onto the rusty, disjoined fence. It is essential to note that the parapet wall supporting the fence has fallen away, leaving the fence detached and unsupported. Consequently, the fence is now dangling precariously and no longer secure.
After the children left, I examined the fence personally and found it to be extremely loose, demonstrating a high risk of collapse. Given its deteriorated condition and lack of underlying support, it is a matter of great concern that the fence could detach and fall away at any moment, posing a grave danger to pedestrians and motorists passing beneath the bridge.
To ensure the safety of the community and prevent any potential accidents or injuries, I strongly urge you to dispatch a maintenance team to address this hazardous situation promptly. Repairing and reinforcing the parapet wall, replacing the rusted fence sections, and securing the loose sections of the fence are vital actions that need to be taken without delay.
For your convenience, the coordinates of the bridge are as follows:
