Uneven surface. Hardly any tarmac in places. This is from the top of Branch Road to the bottom. It is an absolute disgrace and causes more traffic to go through the village of Barkisland., 23rd July
The surface of the road is very uneven and is worn away in places. There are large areas were there is no tarmac at all. Due to the state of this road more traffic is going through the village. This road has been like this for a few years. Small repairs being made periodically have only made the surface more uneven.

Middle of Branch road - more a crater than a pot hole, 9th May
Hi there is a crater in the middle of Branch Road as well as dozens of other potholes along the whole 1 mile stretch. It is like driving on the moon. I try and avoid it like the plague, even though I live on it, but unfortunately Beestonely Lane was closed last week and is due to be closed for a few more weeks soon, so I am going to have to drive the length and run the risk of having no suspension left for the next few weeks.

It's a Saturday, and we returned from a day out to find the parking spaces coned off outside our house and all the others from the junction with the A672 down to the bridge. Why has this been done? We haven't had any notice of work being done.

Blocked drains on Elland Road, 6th August
I am concerned that the rainwater drains on the left hand side (the side with no housing) of Elland Road in Ripponden from the junction with Halifax Road down to the bridge over the beck are blocked by debris to the extent that they can no longer cope with water runoff during periods of fairly average rain fall (ie. greater than just a drizzle).
What is regularly happening during rain fall due to these blocked drains is that rain runoff is turning this section of Elland road into anything from a fast flowing stream to a shallow rapid river. The depth of the run off can be as much as three inches.
I am concerned this will eventually result in a traffic incident during a period of medium to heavy rainfall in the future and could, in time, possibly create structural problems for the foundations of the road and bridge.
Could somebody take a look at this issue?
Thank you.
