FIXMYSTREET IN G63 9HW
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of G63 9HW:
Lack of sufficient dropped kerbs, 25th March
Highlighting a problem for prams and wheelchairs around the village.
It is very difficult to be able to navigate a wheelchair or pram around the village due to : - lack of dropped kerbs in some places - most dropped kerbs still too high, cannot push wheelchair up onto pavement, have to turn around and pull it up backwards. This leaves the wheelchair and occupant very vulnerable on the road with the hope any approaching vehicle slows to let you maneuver the chair up onto the pavement - cars continuing to park on pavements blocking route for prams or wheelchair users. This includes outside the Primary School, despite existing yellow lines and outside local shops
I would invite whoever is in charge of pavements to come and see for themselves, and try pushing an adult around the village in a wheelchair to witness the issue first hand

Pothole on exit from roundabout, 25th March
There is a pothole or degradation of road around a metal stank in the road just as you leave the roundabout at the Kikhouse Inn, heading in Milngavie direction. This has been there for at least a month and is steadily getting worse. There is no way to avoid due to the roundabout road channeling. Could cause an accident as vehicles are suddenly breaking uunexpectedly when they see it

Potholes both sides of central bollard, 25th March
There is a deep, long pothole on the side of road heading downhill to the roundabout. There is no way to avoid hitting the pothole due to the central bollard and it is now deep enough to damage a car's tyre or wheel and be extremely dangerous if a cyclist was to catch their wheel on it. Also a smaller pothole on the other side of central bollard (church side) which is starting to get deeper too.

Parking on yellow lines, 9th January
Despite recent repainting of yellow lines Cars are still parking on the lines at school dropoff and pickup times, not just stopping to dropoff. This makes it difficult for OpenReach traffic and residents to gain access during these times. We need parking warden to make a visit at these times to enforce the parking/stopping restrictions. There are plenty of spaces for cars to park further into the surrounding streets, where there are no parking restrictions,or at the nearby carpark with a pedestrian crossing available to cross the main road

Trees blocking street lights, 13th October
There are 4 new streetlights been installed at the entrance of new housing development. This is on the corner before the Devil's Elbow in Strathblane. Unfortunately the light from 2 of the 4 does not reach the ground due to branches blocking the light. These branches need to be cut back to allow light to reach road surface. This is very dangerous at this new junction with very dark patches across the road at a blind bend. Currently lots of work vans/cars parked on roadside (partially on road) adding to danger.

Overgrown trees, 27th September
Trees on A81 between the foot of Kirkhouse Road and junction with Kirkburn Road are causing dangerous shadows across the A81 at both the Pelican Crossing and road junction. The trees are blocking light from the street lights reaching the ground making it almost impossible for drivers to see pedestrians or even cyclists on the Kirkhouse side of the roadand making it very dangerous for these pedestrians / cyclists. These trees need to be trimmed back to allow light to reach the road and pavement surface.
