Various amounts of potholes on the road up to the houses. Some are of quite a large depth, 28th September

Fri, 28 Sep 2018 08:52:44 +0100
55.304473 -3.454951

The potholes had been sprayed to mark them out but it was done that long ago the marks/spray have wore off! They are not only a risk to cars but also to people who walk along the road as there is no pavement. The potholes have been severe since the late spring they are now increasing in depth and size due to traffic having no choice but to run on them as it is a small narrow single road. It starts from beattock caravan park and proceeds to the houses round the back also known as the ‘back village’ by locals. There are at least 10 households that use this road for asscess on a daily basis, one of which is a business which requires goods to be delivered via 6 wheeler lorries. Delivery of goods is starting to become different due to the amount of potholes and depth as they are completely unavoidable for lorries who require the width of the whole road. The road is also used by scotrail for access to one of their service yards so sees frequent amount of work traffic which is also having a impact on the state of the worsening road. There is also plans for forestry commission to fell tree in the next coming weeks to months which is also see an increase in traffic on the road.
