Sandbeck Lanes community recreation field is an open space for all of us to use and enjoy.Sadly now, it seems it’s main function is that of a ‘dog toilet’ or alternatively ,abandoned dog poo bags left on the field or in the hedges.Even though there is a visible dog bin to discard this. Many residents constantly air there views and upset not just about this field but on footpaths throughout the village on either their Facebook forum or while out walking their dogs. There is now ‘live’ ongoing talks to bring back a ‘football team’ to the village and with this, the vision of supporting the Blyton community and others with further scope of sports activities for all age groups. This will enrich all age groups and combat many of our now identified societal issues of well being. We need visible dog fouling literature either ground mounted or fixed high enough on the available lamp posts (high out of reach) down this lane, to primarily combat and deter this ongoing issue and have a field free from dog fouling and provide a clean field to play on and the health and safety factors are covered too. Thank you

Just before railway verge collapsed into stream and road subsiding with crack appearing within days, 22nd February

Thu, 22 Feb 2024 20:09:56 +0000
53.438985 -0.704817

Heavy vehicle went on verge a couple of weeks ago and cause the verge to collapse into the stream. Road started to dip at the edge but in the last couple of days a crack has appeared approx 1m long about 0,5m into the road circling the dipping part of the road. I suspect subsidence due to the collapsed verge. If it was to give way whilst a car was going over it.. then there is a high risk of the car being dragged of course directly into the railway bridge support.
