The two defective drains are on the acute bend of Pinfold Corner where the B5071 (Stock Lane) meets the Main Road, Wybunbury., 30th April

Tue, 30 Apr 2024 18:09:33 +0100
53.048582 -2.463003

I first reported this recurrent drainage and highway surface water flooding issue 18 months ago. Since then residents have reported it every time it rains (most recently; ref: 5693118). There are two highways drains on the eastern side (A) by the driveway into Pinfold Farm and (B) on the same side but opposite the Wybunbury Lane junction. (See photo) The drain (A), despite gully clearance action, does not drain effectively and rapidly become silted up again. Drain (B) appears to be partially blocked. It takes several days for the surface water to seep away / evaporate. Throughout that period this blind corner is impacted by extensive surface-water flooding which is hazardous to road users. (The wider impacts are that the water tracks up the driveway to Pinfold Farm and leaves standing water over the driveway and much of the garden.) The fact that gully emptying is of limited effectiveness, suggests that the highway gully may be damaged or partially collapsed. Please can this section of the highways drainage system be investigated and repaired accordingly Thank you.

This is an absolute joke now CEC, please can you look at this section of road, it’s beyond dangerous and has been reported SEVERAL TIMES on here, nobody can post pics or exact location as they are likely driving, it’s so dangerous as people are seeing it late and then trying to avoid - the only way to avoid is to get in the fast lane asap. In the rain it’s not viable and is ruining cars, I can’t imagine it on a bike. Can this please be looked at asap before there is a big accident!

This pothole has been here at least a month. It is 1 metre square and 8cm deep - it is extremely dangerous to cars and I burst my tyre on it on 16th April (it had already been reported by that point too). On 17th April white lines were put around it.

Getting worse. Dangerous series of potholes in this area. Nearby houses continue to shake quite violently as HGVs pass over these holes. I’ve already reported this twice before but never get any response or indication that anyone at CEC is that interested. Sadly I’m not surprised.

Three pot holes now, making it hard to avoid when entering or exiting cul-de-sac. I reported this a few months ago, two of the three potholes were filled in. Now the repair has disintegrated and same problem reappeared. Only way to access Huntersfield properties, impossible to avoid and soon residents will have damaged vehicles.

Whilst it's obvious this must have been reported due to the white markings when I went back to take a photo during the dry weather today, it wasn't to me yesterday evening when it was full of rainwater and the gutter was accumulating water completely covering the existence of the hole causing my left wheel to slam into it. Whenever this was reported it should have been dealt with immediately, it could cause a serious problem. The hole is very deep, and is showing raised ironworks, looking on Google maps this has obviously been filled in before

There are still a number of potholes on this stretch of road that need to be repaired urgently. They are causing a number of houses to shake whenever a large vehicle passes over them. Vehicles are swerving to avoid them - increasing the collision risk. It is not acceptable to wait until the road resurfacing takes place later this year, it needs to be done now.
