M40 s/b 16 to 15, lane 1, poor road surface, 5th July
I'm a Police officer for Warwickshire Police. I often patrol the M40 motorway and noticed an issue that's been there for some time. Lane 1 between junctions 16 and 15 on the southbound carriageway is in a poor state. Every now and then you'll come across groves in lane 1 that are clearly consistent with vehicle tyres going a long the carriageway. These groves are damage to the surface causing an unpleasant experience when driving over them as they are sunken compared to the rest of the carriageway. The other concern is water will pool in these sunken areas which could cause collisions.
