FIXMYSTREET IN CV34 6AY
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of CV34 6AY:
Deep gaps on edge of riad, 29th April
Due to the lorries using old Budbrooke road there are very deep drops at various points on the road. One example is just past the junction with Damson Road on the left when driving towards Hampton on the Hill. This is just one of many areas on both sides of this road. It would severely damage a car if drove onto the edges.

Hazardous Temporary Pedestrian Crossing, 25th April
The recently installed temporary traffic light controlled pedestrian crossing at the Castle Bridge is extremely dangerous. The lights can only first be seen by cars southbound from the bridge apex, only 10m away, and the warning sign on the other side of the bridge is so far back that drivers are assuming there are no lights. When crossing on 23 April evening, with green pedestrian light and bleeper sounding, a car came over the bridge at speed and straight through the red light (it did not stop at all). I was able to jump out of the way but it was a very near miss - a mother with pushchair would not have been so lucky! As I continued, a second car came over the bridge clearly with no intention of stopping and this time I would not have been able to avoid being hit. I raised my hand in warning and fortunately it screeched to a halt. It is only a matter of time before a serious injury occurs here. The lights are also very poor in their response time to pedestrians (even when the road is clear) and I have seen several people crossing against the lights at this hazardous blind spot after waiting for a long time. On the north side of the bridge there is no way for pedestrians to cross back safely (e.g. to the Boat Club) without a long detour and again they have to take their lives in their hands. The lights need to stop southbound traffic north of the bridge, to allow safer crossing in both directions. The only really safe solution would be to reduce to the road to one lane controlled by lights and provide a coned off pedestrian lane, although I appreciate that this would cause traffic delays. But I am certain that lives are at stake here and a satisfactory solution needs to be implemented very urgently.

Parking on grass verges, 16th March
I’m tired of people parking on the grass verges. Yes it’s a council estate does that mean it should be neglected no. This has gone on forever. Simple posts and council signs for no parking on verges would be enough to stop this. But for some reason the residents are continually ignored. They are also parking on the grass but what would be illegal close to the junctions but because they are on grass it’s acceptable. They are abusive if confronted by what they are doing. Nobody has addressed it at all. Police and council not bothered . It’s also dangerous. The whole estate is neglected. Gog brook full of trolleys and fly tipping. The whole estate covered in litter from the two schools and shops. It feels like it’s going down hill.

Numerous potholes and damage road surface, 13th March
There are numerous potholes and damage to the road on the sliproad to join the M40 southbound. I have seen vehicles swerve into the other lane to avoid the potholes, which causes drivers to suddenly break, endangering other road users. This urgently needs repairing.

Drainage problem creating high levels of standing water across carriageway, 12th March
During this winter, there is regularly standing water across both northbound lanes and occasionally on the southbound lanes. The water looks like it is coming from the west by the sports club. It has caused traffic jams and near misses with traffic suddenly slowing. Looks like improvements to ditches are required. I’m surprised to see NH state that the problem is fixed, against an earlier report. It clearly isn’t resolved.
