Hazardous Temporary Pedestrian Crossing, 25th April
The recently installed temporary traffic light controlled pedestrian crossing at the Castle Bridge is extremely dangerous. The lights can only first be seen by cars southbound from the bridge apex, only 10m away, and the warning sign on the other side of the bridge is so far back that drivers are assuming there are no lights. When crossing on 23 April evening, with green pedestrian light and bleeper sounding, a car came over the bridge at speed and straight through the red light (it did not stop at all). I was able to jump out of the way but it was a very near miss - a mother with pushchair would not have been so lucky! As I continued, a second car came over the bridge clearly with no intention of stopping and this time I would not have been able to avoid being hit. I raised my hand in warning and fortunately it screeched to a halt. It is only a matter of time before a serious injury occurs here. The lights are also very poor in their response time to pedestrians (even when the road is clear) and I have seen several people crossing against the lights at this hazardous blind spot after waiting for a long time. On the north side of the bridge there is no way for pedestrians to cross back safely (e.g. to the Boat Club) without a long detour and again they have to take their lives in their hands. The lights need to stop southbound traffic north of the bridge, to allow safer crossing in both directions. The only really safe solution would be to reduce to the road to one lane controlled by lights and provide a coned off pedestrian lane, although I appreciate that this would cause traffic delays. But I am certain that lives are at stake here and a satisfactory solution needs to be implemented very urgently.

Damaged raised footway - getting bigger due to wooden plank deteriorating. Noticed first a few weeks ago. Location is on the raised decking footway linking Saxon Mill to the field pathway leading to Milverton Church.

This house and several others in Regent Street in Leamington have several bags and additional rubbish placed on the pavement since Sunday and continues to grow in quantity over the weeks.

Same old problem week in week out people have put their rubbish out a week early on Chandos Street/Oxford Street as they do not wish to keep rubbish within their homes for weeks at a time., 16th April
Same old problem week in week out people have put their rubbish out a week early as they do not wish to keep rubbish within their homes for weeks at a time. This week I didn't send a friendly reminder that the rubbish was going to be put out as it is every and has been since the weekly collection changed to two weekly.
As a result the black bagged rubbish that is dumped on a weekly basis has not been picked up again.
I am afraid I will have to go back to sending in reports on a regular basis, this is very disappointing as this is not my job and I am busy running a business.

Fly tipping hot spot not so Royal Leamington Spa town centre Chandos Street.
This was reported last Wednesday and I did mention that more rubbish would be put out this Tuesday as it always is.
Some rubbish that was only reported this Tuesday did get removed on the very same day.
We did think this was down to the new contractor that WDC has got in to remove the black bags as they are being put out due to the failed two weekly collection but sadly not.
Please have them removed before the weekend as they are generally unpleasant although the local vermin tend to disagree.

Dropped kerb, 3rd April
The dropped kerb has not been reinstalled near the traffic island enabling cycles to rejoin Gallows Hill from the shared path. Cycles and pedestrians are forced to remain on the shared path and directed onto Heathcote Lane, there is no option if they wish to go on Harbury Lane or turn right onto Europa Speedway via the traffic island. The contractors are also not helping by blocking verges and traffic islands with cones and temporary signage.
