Road sinking outside of 2/3 Searles Cottage, Copford Green, CO6 1DA, 7th November
This is my third attempt at reporting this problem and enough is enough. I don't understand how much worse this road needs to become before this is addressed. Our drive is quickly becoming destroyed and every time we have moderate rainfall the front of the drive/road fills up like a pond. When we want to leave the house we have no option other than to drive out or wade through all of the water which is completely unacceptable. It is such a dip in the road it looks as if the road is collapsing and taking our drive with it! I have reported this issue to you on two previous occasions, one being 10/06/20 and 10/12/21 on both occasions I was dismissed by highways England. I don't understand why small potholes are being addressed where we live but when the road is virtually collapsing outside the house it will not be sorted. I would like an email to explain how much worse this problem needs to become before you will address this, does it really require us to not be able to drive in and out of our own drive? as it looks like this is the case. Our neighbour who lives at 3 Searles Cottages is disabled so when it does rain even if he wanted to he would not be able to leave the house because of the uneven road surface and the shear amount of water. I do not believe the pictures that I have attached have even done it justice as it can be much worse than what has been captured. Cars even resort to driving on the other side of the road to avoid the uneven surface and water which is a hazard within itself. As if a car is coming in the opposite direction this would cause a crash. I hope that you finally take this matter seriously as we are getting very fed up of constantly being fobbed off. I look forward to hearing your response.
