Very large potholes in both lanes on both sides of the A55 in the area of junction 39 & 40. These are unavoidable and will cause vehicle damage as they are so large. The problem is made worse by historic poor repairs. Both sides of the dual carriageway urgently need to be completely resurfaced. These potholes have got worse over the last 4 weeks and was initially reported to Chester & Cheshire West Council.

Lots of large potholes, unavoidable, 27th April
Large potholes that are unavoidable and potentially dangerous/car damaging on the A55 both carriageways, just after joining the carriage way westbound and just before leaving the carriageway eastbound at Chester (bikers cross). Hit one today as couldn’t avoid, thought my car had broken! Luckily not this time but this is a 70mph road and could cause an accident.

Both sides of the carriageways have lots of potholes/ craters in the road surface the whole jct 39 to jct 40 needs resurfacing especially because the road is national speed limit

For approx 100m of this section of the a55 there are multiple pots hols which is becoming increasingly worse. This has been ongoing for a few months and is becoming more dangerous as the pits hols become deeper. It is dangerous as cars are travelling at 70MPH +.

The whole road for about 1 mile is pottered with potholes and uneven surfaces, you almost have to swerve towards the central reservation to avoid them , really really dangerous on both sides of the A55

Lots of potholes on main carriageway by junction 40, 11th March
There are a lot of large potholes on the A55 main carriageway in both directions on the stretches around junction 40. They are difficult/impossible to avoid. They are getting worse every time I drive that way. These could cause damage to vehicles or r cause accidents

BAD road surface on A55 by Vicars Cross, 5th March
Bad road surface and potholes on the A55 by Vicars cross - approaching the roundabout going towards Ellesmere Port Direction. and also bad road damage on the A55 on the other side near the slip road when going towards Wrexham. Some bits filled in but others still to repair.
