Very large potholes in both lanes on both sides of the A55 in the area of junction 39 & 40. These are unavoidable and will cause vehicle damage as they are so large. The problem is made worse by historic poor repairs. Both sides of the dual carriageway urgently need to be completely resurfaced. These potholes have got worse over the last 4 weeks and was initially reported to Chester & Cheshire West Council.

Lots of large potholes, unavoidable, 27th April
Large potholes that are unavoidable and potentially dangerous/car damaging on the A55 both carriageways, just after joining the carriage way westbound and just before leaving the carriageway eastbound at Chester (bikers cross). Hit one today as couldn’t avoid, thought my car had broken! Luckily not this time but this is a 70mph road and could cause an accident.

Potholes, 25th April
Travelling on Wednesday 24th in the direction of Wrexham on the A55 coming from Northwich. The potholes and road surface is absolutely disgraceful between junction 40 and 38. So many potholes, road breaking up and uneven surface. People were swerving to avoid the potholes. I have travelled recently to Anglesey and the A55 is in a reasonable condition in that direction. However it has been a while since I travelled the other direction and was shocked to say the least.

Swarm of potholes both carriageways, 24th April
Potholes on both sides of road between junctions 39 and 40.motorists frequently swerving to avoid the constant thumping into the holes. I have to say that the Welsh side of the a55 is much better maintained

Road surface disintegrating at alarming rate, 14th April
The road is fast becoming one big series of potholes. THIS IS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
The other evening in the dark because I knew the holes were there. I had to drive with my headlights on dazzling other road users.
This started as a couple of potholes now the road is disintegrating from the left hand lane and is all the way across both lanes. DANGEROUS AND WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT VERY SOON.
The carriageway A55 between vicars cross to the post house roundabout has a series of damaged road surfaces. But the worst is just over the A41 bridge coming from vicars cross towards the post house roundabout.
