Very deep wide pothole on a tight bend, 14th December
This pothole has been there for a while and got bigger. It’s now been reported a few times in the last week. No actions have been made to make drivers aware. I now have a puncture as I had to move over for a larger vehicle coming in the opposite direction, it was dark and the home was also full of rain water so couldn’t see the depth

Poor drainage allowing only footpath in road to be inundated with water after a few hours rain, 2nd October
We have been in this house a year and it has been a regular occurrence that the drain immediately outside our drive cannot handle the volume of rain water flowing down Blacksmiths Lane and Church Road after a few hours of rain and overflows both the kerb and the pavement. On a number of occasions the build up has been such that the water passes under our hedge and inundates our front garden and also floods our drive. In speaking to an elderly neighbour this has been the same problem for more than 10 years if not 20years! Pedestrians are forced to walk in the road and cannot escape doing so as there is no pavement on the opposite side of our road. Given also that the road is not very wide, Pedestrians are regularly soaked when cars pass each other through the flood.

The ditch needs pulling out, 22nd December
The ditch has become completely overgrown and road dirt has been left to completely fill in the ditch; it now really needs to be pulled out both sides of the road after many years neglect as the water now runs down the road in heavy rain and floods the properties on the north side of Plains Road. The north side of the road from the top to number 15 has been filled in by property developers over the last few years; the ditch needs re-instating to drain the surface water. The ditch on the south side of plains from the top near 1 Totham Hill Green needs to be re-instated adjacent to the fields; the water on the fields drains straight across the road creating a large amount of surface flooding which floods straight across the road to the properties opposite, numbers 15, 19 and 23 Plains Road. As some properties are lower than the road, this is a real problem now; this has been notified to the environment department of Maldon District Council on many occasions over the last 5 years, but still nothing has been done to re-instate the ditches, which are an important part of the drainage solution for the village.
