The whole length of Lea lane is covered in DEEP pot holes which makes an already narrow road harder to navigate, it will cause not only accidents now but huge damage to cars. The potholes need to be filled immediately and I can not believe they have been left to get to this ridiculous state.!

Sunken section of road, 8th January
There is an area of road when travelling towards Tiptree, where the below ground material seems to have dropped as there is a large ‘jump’ in the height of the carriageway

Recetnly repaired pot hole with drain near Elm Springs house in Lea Lane, 25th January
This pot hole has been a danger for months now as vehicles have to wait to pass due to it. this pothole is more of a danger if no daylight. there is a drain attached to it and its quite deep. it looks like it may of been repaired but if it has, then the repair has sunk

Why has a lay-by been created here, loads of filth and rubbish being left. It’s bringing crime near to my house, 16th January
I live at the rowans, Lea lane, great braxted CM8 3EP 07891 586024 Richard franks In the last 2,5 years I have had theft from my property , one burglary to an outbuilding. Possibly being staked out from these parking positions I’m sure these unofficial lay bys. Some just mud , but the one at the top of Lea lane now tarmac. Who planned and who authorised this eyesore. Very large pothole/around a drain - approx 12-18 inch across and VERY deep, 14th October
This pothole is in a very dangerous position because if there is traffic coming on the opposite side then there is not enough room to go round it. I know because I hit it yesterday and it was so deep it shook my 4x4 so would be even more dangerous for a small car. It on the carriageway from Tiptree heading towards the A12.

Long grass and weeds obscuring view., 8th August
Hi, approaching Blue Mills Bridge from Blue Mills Hill the view of oncoming traffic is obscured by long grass and weeds. This could cause an accident. I witnessed a near accident and altercation when one motorist thought it safe to proceed when it wasn’t. This is an annual problem perhaps it could be put in the diary when it’s solved. Collapsed grid 50 meters north of Old School House Lodge, 4th July

Litter strewn along A12 causing environmental hazard, 15th March
I drove from Suffolk to Hants on 13th March. I am writing to let you know how appalled I was with the amount of litter that was along the whole length of the A12 in most parts of Essex. I also noticed a large number of dead creatures, including badgers,deer and foxes. I suspect some of these deaths are Caused by these animals scavenging on the litter. I was particularly alarmed that this amount of rubbish stretched for most of my journey through Essex and wonder if they are as an authority more lapse than others. This as a traveller does appear to be the case. I am hoping if they can be made to take more care of the road verges.

Poor drainage allowing only footpath in road to be inundated with water after a few hours rain, 2nd October
We have been in this house a year and it has been a regular occurrence that the drain immediately outside our drive cannot handle the volume of rain water flowing down Blacksmiths Lane and Church Road after a few hours of rain and overflows both the kerb and the pavement. On a number of occasions the build up has been such that the water passes under our hedge and inundates our front garden and also floods our drive. In speaking to an elderly neighbour this has been the same problem for more than 10 years if not 20years! Pedestrians are forced to walk in the road and cannot escape doing so as there is no pavement on the opposite side of our road. Given also that the road is not very wide, Pedestrians are regularly soaked when cars pass each other through the flood.

Overgrown grass so can't see cars on bridge, 13th June
The grass on both sides of the bridge by Blue Mill house (Benton Hall) is overgrown and so high that you can't see the cars coming when crossing the bridge. Makes it very dangerous and hard to cross when can't see. Please can someone cut the grass. Thanks

Abandoned vehicle (white transit van) left in lay-by, 1st June
This vehicle while transit van AV55CPO, clearly belongs to D's Diner of Hatfield Peverel - it has sat in the corner of this lay-by on the Witham Bypass (southbound) for weeks. I think it's a bit of free advertising for the cafe (unless they are paying the council fees ??) It is taking up space and needs removing :-)
