Pot holes finished, Island and road left in appealing condition, 31st January
Highways have just completed pothole work in Water Lane, Jaspers Green and work has been completed to a high standard HOWEVER the grass triangle and surrounding area has been left in appealing condition. I believe the parish council pay for the planting of spring flowers so very disappointed in how it has been left. Also with a huge crater!

Md and stones constantly strewn across carriageway, 4th January
For over ten years thick mud and stones sometimes 6 inches deep strewn across carriageway for 200 metres. Caused by Essex County Council not cutting back the verges despite being asked over 30 times to do so. Just ignoring the request for a safe road. Damage to vehicles and I have had an accident on this on my motorcycle.

Mud from verges, 19th November
This problem has been ongoing for over 10 years. The mud is a hazard and I have already had a accident on my motorcycle caused by this mud. It is because Essex County Council Highways refuse to cut back the overgrown verges. Bad in summer but horrendous in winter. Also causes a build up of mud on vehicle chassis causing severe rust. The mud extends from the B1053 Water Lane for 200 metres.

Tree preservation order, 14th June
This application is for a TPO on a mature Beech tree that sits on the boundary of our driveway. The tree is a habitat for local birds and buzzes with bees throughout the summer. It provides visual amenity both for ourselves and neighbouring properties. The tree is currently under threat as the owner of the neighbouring property whose 2nd drive and 2nd garage can be seen in the right of the photo wants the tree to be pruned because of birds’ mess on his car from wildlife in the tree above. We have spoken with a tree surgeon who has advised that mature beech trees do not like to be pruned and he advised against it. We feel it is reasonable that there be a degree of mess caused by wildlife in the tree and that this is not a reason to put it at risk through pruning and are therefore applying fit the TPO to protect it.

Granite curb was totally invisible at bend on road, particularly at night., 30th October
Country lane with no lighting has near and around bend sharp granite curbs. No idea why you would have such curbs, particularly in an area of total darkness and no cats eyes, reflectors or other safety features. Clipping this curb blew out a tyre and caused the car to crash and is likely to be written off.

Bovingdon Road closed since October 2016!!, 24th November
We are among the most affected as we live halfway up the road and have received no information or updates since the road was closed. We keep hearing rumours that the road will open ; the last rumour was 'by Christmas'. However, there is still a huge gaping hole in the road. Could we please have some information!!
