Treacherous area., 6th February
There is a large area of damaged road surface in this dip. The extremely poor condition of the protruding drain and kerb on a tight bend has been prevalent for years. The road is reduced to single file. It appears to require immediate major remedial repair.

Numerous potholes along Matching Road., 6th February
There is no end of potholes along this road on both sides. Starting at High Laver crossroads there’s potholes opposite the entrance to Ashlyns, then continuing north, both sides of the road opposite Robins Acre. Continue towards Matching Green and there are several more areas which need to be made safe. Nearer to Matching Green there’s another large, deep pothole on a bend. I have already reported this a long time ago and has a cone and warning sign.

Missing information., 6th February
Where marked on the map, I believe a warning sign of a CROSSROADS is missing, but the post is still in place. Still travelling east on Workers Road, at the crossroads, the GIVE WAY sign is badly positioned. It is at the junction and not before. The speed limits on these roads is 60mph.

Very deep and wide pothole., 3rd November
This pothole is hidden on the exit of a left hand bend. It protrudes into the carriageway a long way and is very deep. Please add this to the list when the one I already reported on the next bend is repaired. If I remember correctly, in this close vicinity there is a further pothole on the opposite side of the road.

Exceptionally large and dangerous pothole., 3rd November
This is a monster pothole on a bend and I find it impossible to understand why this has not been repaired, particularly as there is evidence of pothole repairs at High Laver Grange and Matching Green and it’s highly likely the workforce must have driven past this and several more. An accident waiting to happen.

This pot hole is a fair way from the verge and driving towards Moreton from High Laver, avoiding it is dangerous due to it being only a short distance from a bend. The pot hole has now been there for several weeks.

Atrocious road condition., 20th February
On the left hand bend marked on the map, there is a protruding metal drain which has become more prominent now the verge has been greatly eroded. Having avoided this hazard, there is then an extremely large pothole to negotiate. I have reported these sometime ago and needless to say, because of neglect, they have now become a serious danger to road users. To add to the danger this left hand bend is part of a ‘Z’ bend, therefore oncoming traffic would be unaware of a vehicle approaching in the middle of the road whilst trying to avoid the two holes. Please do give this priority.

Very large hole in the road., 7th November
There is a very large hole in the road at this crossroads. It has become filled with water and difficult to judge size, but about a metre in diameter with a deep (100ml) sharp edge. Therefore a major hazard to road users, particularly as I believe the road carries a 60mph speed limit. This seems to have become more evident since a utility company was working at this junction a week ago. The whole junction and verge is in a very poor condition, including the railing, which I reported last March! The railing damage was sustained over two years ago, mainly due to a car crash and has been continually neglected. As far as I know, blue plastic barriers have remained in the ditch ever since the crash. Seriously, this area needs a major overhaul.

Extremely large and deep pothole., 7th June
This pothole, marked on the map, is virtually unavoidable whilst driving into Moreton from High Laver. Another similar pothole is apparent after crossing Moreton bridge towards Ongar. Please would Highways send a surveyor to scrutinise the roads in and around the Parish of Moreton, Bobbingworth and the Lavers. Our roads are atrocious. It would be impossible to report each one, which is why I am generalising. Apart from potholes, driving is made even more hazardous because of the uncut verges, particularly at junctions. A lot of our roads carry a 60mph speed limit, which crazy. Also this area is a popular cycling route, but hardly conducive to enjoyable cycling.

Damaged railings, 23rd February
The railings at High Laver cross roads were severely damaged in a traffic accident approximately in the summer of 2016. It appears there has been further damage as one of the steel, pipe-like railings is pointing to the sky and could quite easily fall into the road or indeed on to a road user. This railing is approximately 6 feet long.

Two potholes., 22nd February
There are two large potholes along the High Laver Road between Robin's Acre and High Laver Grange. There have been recent repairs to potholes along this road, but there are numerous others which have been ignored. It will never cease to amaze me how our highways repair teams can drive past potholes which need obvious attention.
