Bridge on the railway at Theydon Bois has several very deep potholes that are worsening every day and likely to cause damage or an accident. Small pieces of tarmac are flying up from passing cars and could injure pedestrians on the walkway. This whole section of road has significantly deteriorated in the past 2 weeks.

Dangerous corrosion of road surface in several places in Brook Road, 18th January
I have reported this several times now. Witnessed 2 near miss accidents alone this morning. Some cars are unaware of the danger driving at speed narrowly missing on coming traffic trying to avoid the potholes. The worse one in under the bridge on a blind bend. When is someone going to close the road and properly repair these. The temporary fix last a few days at best. There will be a serious accident soon if this is not repaired.

Electronic sign by M25 A 156.8, 6th January
When we were driving past this sign, only the lights on each corner were flashing before it stopped and restarted several seconds later, instead of displaying the message “M25 J1A-2 closed” like all other ones in the area.

Large pothole under bridge. Broken drain, 17th November
Very dangerous as cars in both directions try to avoid it. The metal drain cover is sticking up and the road has collapsed around it. This has been like this for more than 2 months. 2 near miss accidents witnessed.

Blocked,Brocken drainage pipe under road, 12th November
Continuously on going problem with water backing up in the drainage ditch due to the pipe work under the entrance road to Red oaks mead and allotments is blocked or has collapsed and preventing water flowing freely away. Have tried clearing with drainage rods but unable to clear blockage.

Huge sink hole, 22nd September
Dangerous sink hole. The road has recently had new mains fitted (entire length of road) it appears one of these may have collapsed which is causing the sink hole. It’s got worse over the last week. Cars are swerving to avoid it and hitting another sink hole. It won’t be long before a pedestrian is seriously hurt.

No markings, 2nd September
There were no markings or cones whilst the 2 lanes on the m25 were closed and only 1 lane open which went straight to the exit / slip road. For cars heading straight onto m25 it was not clear from where to join m25 and abruptly they have to go right which some cars went over chevrons but were hit by obstacles on the road which damaged the tyres. There were around 7-8 cars which suffered and were stranded waiting for rescue people late night. This was very dangerous as there was not enough signage or visibility.

10 inch pothole in Woburn Ave, near the middle, 14th July
This pothole has been here for 12 months. It was poorly filled in but has reappeared. The bed under the tarmac has started to come out and has spread stones in a large radius. It is constantly leaking water which is running down the road.

M11 northbound c/w between Blunts Farm depot and M25 over bridge, there are major longitudinal surface defects (potholes), 10th April
The surface defects appear to have been reported before by other road users over the last few months without any corrective action. The defects are significant, and are likely to increase risk of vehicle damage or safety of road users that swerve erratically to avoid the potholes.
