FIXMYSTREET IN CB11 4NB
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of CB11 4NB:
Dangerous cross road, 3rd July
Dangerous cross road. As you leave Elmdon down quickset road you reach the crossroads just outside toziers cottage. Qucikset road is intersected by royston lane. this is a blind junction. And the sight of numerous collisions. traffic coming down royston lane from either direction has no direct view of fast moving traffic comming down quickset lane. Cars pull out suddenly to look. Or just pull out without checking thinking it is worth the gamble as just a quiet country junction not realising that traffic moving in excess of 50mph could be passing through. two collisions within the last week, dozens in the last ten years. There will be a fatality if this junction is not improved.

There are no STOP or GIVE WAY signs meaning that vehicles regularly go straight out into path of oncoming traffic., 1st July
There is no signage. No warning signs or effective painted instructions to warn drivers to slow, give way or stop as they approach the priority road junction.
It is like Russian roulette when going through the junction especially as increasing used as a cut through by drivers that are not aware of the hazard.
There have been numerous accidents including many serious ones. Evidence the many skid marks, debris and damage to hedging where vehicles have left the road. This is an extremely dangerous junction hat despite repeated calls for help to councillors - nothing is being done. Maybe it will when someone dies

Laurel Hedge planted and temporary plastic fencing - Path width problem, 2nd December
Footpath 7. The owner of the land (The Grange, Church Road) has planted a laurel hedge on the edge of the footpath. This has restricted the level width of the path to 4 feet at the start of the photograph down to 3 feet art the end of the photograph, well under the 5 feet (1.5m) required. There is a ditch on the left hand side of the path. Laurel hedge growth would probably totally obscure the path. Uttlesford Planning has also been informed as there are planning issues with regard to the hedge. Uttlesford Enforcement are looking at this Reference ENF/21/0283/C

Continued flooding despite recent works, 18th January
Still floods across the school entrance despite recent works. While the ditch has been cleared in the verge behind and the roadway drains cleared through to the ditch there seems to be no run-off from the ditch, rather it's now back flooding onto the road. This is pretty much the highest point in the village so run-off channels must be blocked somewhere.
