FIXMYSTREET IN BR5 4DS
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of BR5 4DS:
Speed bump hazard, 28th April
When approaching the roundabout from the High Street direction, the road passes over an elevated speed table adjacent to Orpington Village Hall. The approach to this speed hump (southbound), near the pavement edge of the road has been sinking and degrading for an extended period of time. However, it's been damaged further following recent rains, and the level of degradation now poses a serious hazard to cyclists - the dip is significant and also hard to avoid. Furthermore, the level of water that pools in the dip is now soaking the pavement (and pedestrians) - when a bus hits the defect in rainy weather water and grit is thrown across the pavement for as much as two metres. This is evidenced by the pile of mud, from the road foundation, that can be seen each time the pavement dries out. Please can this be considered for an expedited repair given the specific hazard to cyclists.

Telegraph pole with loose cable hanging, 28th April
There’s a telegraph pole on the Orpington (/south) side of the road near the Christ Lutheran Church with a cable hanging down with its end coiled up, creating a lasso-like rope at around head height. The wind is blowing it into the road and it could easily end up getting caught on someone’s wing mirror, or at worst, around a cyclist’s neck.

Exposed sharp wire, 27th April
The climbing rope up to the slide in the playground has been worn over time and today I noticed that the exposed inside is wire which has broken and is sharp. A child could be seriously injured if they used this as it is. I noticed it because it stabbed my leg as I was helping my little boy on the slide and I'm surprised that no one's been injured yet.
