Junction of Nempnett Street and entrance to Street Farm, 22nd February
The drain passing underground at this point is formed by an old gulley with a covering of old random stone slabs. A couple of these slabs have partly disintegrated and partly dropped from the surrounding road level and the .drain below can now clearly be seen. Vehicles of all sorts and sizes including private cars, tractors and oil tankers pass over this drain in order to enter Street Farm and it can only be a matter of time before the whole drain collapses!

Two blockages close together, 15th February
One blockage is by Twinner’s garden gate, just below an old trough which is fed by the drain from up the hill. The outflow from the trough is staying on the road surface and obstructing the gate, before finding its way into another drain. The other blockage is further down that pipe, at the end of the garden, where water is coming out of a manhole cover beside a stile and impeding access to the public right of way. The water is running down the hill and flooding the gate and yard of the nearby sheds.

Bollards installed in passing places, 12th February
A neighbour reported the fact the edges of the road had given way in the passing places through the woods between Breach Hill Farm and the Common in early January. The whole fact that these areas had collapsed and become so rutted shows how often vehicles need to pull into these areas to pass other vehicles The council instead of fixing the problem have installed bollards. What a waste of time and money as this is not a solution as it now limits the size of vehicles that can pass each other. Long vehicles such as tractors and trailers will not be able to pass each other as they will not be able to pull over far enough and will probably damage their vehicles and the bollards by hitting them while trying to pull over far enough. Also a pretty woodland now has been spoilt by glaring reflective bollards. Please remove the bollards and fix the edge of the road, so that the villagers can use the road as we used to be able to.

Road worn-away to sub layer, 11th February
BANES Highways, in the last couple of weeks, have marked the road either side of this stretch with Red paint to denote where Resurfacing is to start and stop. This area is in between two areas to be resurfaced however this stretch of road also needs to be included given the poor condition of the road and numerous potholes and extremely thin tarmac, exposing the base substrate. Please include this stretch of road (from Highlands Farm to Cloverfield) within the planned Resurfacing.
