ISSUE: Shopwatch scheme has been introduced in Yate which a number of local shops have signed up to. This scheme allows shop owners involved to share information about current shoplifters.nnShoplifters identified are then banned from the shops under the scheme. If they continue to commit offences Yate NPT will then consider using Anti-social Behaviour powers to address their criminal activity.nn06/05/21 - Shopwatch is working well amongst local shops.nnu00a0
ACTION: We continue to work with those shops involved and look to target repeat offenders by way of banning them from the stores. This is an on going commitment between police and shop retailers.
