The footpath from Wales Lane to Half Moon pub is unlit. In places it is as little as 30cm wide with the grass growing across the surface forcing walkers towards the kerb and the fast traffic. Please can it be scraped clear so the useable surface is wider?

Blocked drains B2226 just past Plumpton College cause flooding, 13th January
These three carriageway drains in the road surface and the under road drain have been blocked by the soil that erodes from the ploughed field opposite Plumpton college. I dug out the under road drain but pipe is completely filled with soil. The flooding during heavy rain makes cars travel in the middle of the road.

Blocked drain on junction of Lewes Road & Nye Lane, 18th December
Reported by resident to Parish Council. The blocked highway drain that is situated outside one of the new build houses at the junction of Lewes road and Nye lane, to East Sussex highways over a week ago. Nothing so far has been done to clear it and the water flows down Nye lane and as it can’t go down the blocked drain flows across the road and drenches the roadside on the northern edge heading to the sports field. As I explained to the person taking my call when the temperature drops this will be a dangerous sheet of ice and as one mother said when asking what could be done about it, children on their way to school get wet feet before they start in the morning. Thank you Julia

Water leak, 1st October
There is a water leak evidently coming from an underground supply pipe connecting to the Old School House. The amount of water on the surface of the grass verge strongly suggests a leak.

B2116 - Blocked gully traps/drains between the half moon pub and the entrance to Wales farm, 17th August
This section of the B2116 has been resurfaced - wonderful - thank you! However not much use if the road drainage is not working - flooding on this section will quickly reverse the good work done. I've only marked one drain and up loaded a picture BUT nearly all the drains on this section of road are blocked and therefore this section of road often floods particularly during heaving rain. The problem is exacerbated by the crumbling Plumpton Bostal (the lane opposite the Half Moon Pub that leads to the top of the Downs). This Bostal has a concrete surface that is breaking up especially as Plumpton colleges large farming machinery uses it. During heavy rain this broken surface is washing down onto the B2116 and into the gully traps blocking them. I regularly try to dig out the Plumpton Bostal drains which prevents the worst of the erosion onto the B2116 but they fill up fast and the Bostal debris resume washing down and quickly filling the gully traps. This flooding often causes accidents as it obscures the road surface and kerbs making it dangerous for Plumpton college students and anyone using this section of road during heavy rain.

Overgrown hedge obstructing view at junction., 18th June
The hedge on the corner of East End lane and Lewes road is extremely overgrown, not only obstructing the view of cars coming out of East End Lane (have had a few near misses trying to exit the junction) but it’s also obstructing the footpath which is heavily used by students of the local school. The bush is also popular with wasps in height of summer which is dangerous for children
