Dropped metalwork, 4th January
Between Wilmington and Polegate junctions on eastbound carriageway of the A27, there are multiple dropped drain covers both large and smalll, some with at least 4” sharp edge whole cover drop likely to cause wheel / tyre damage because they are on direct path of normal near-side wheels. The noise pollution for local houses is terrible and there is an obvious accident risk if a tyre or wheel is damaged. This has been a growing issue over the past month or so.

Footpath not wide enough, 3rd September
This footpath is so narrow that the crops and weeds are touching over it. This morning I had to walk along it to the station, and the maize and weeds were so wet with dew that my shirts, trainers and shirt were completely soaked by dew. There was a blue sky and no rain forecast. My understanding is that a footpath should be wide enough for 2 people to comfortably pass each other and the guide is 2 meters. This footpath is nowhere near this. One shouldn’t be soaked to the skin by walking on a footpath when it’s not raining!

Footpath not tespected, 24th August
I’ve reported this footpath several times but nothing happens. Can you advise? The field beyond this bank of thick grass has now been harvested but this grass is a barrier to getting there, particularly on a very wet day!

Footpath too narrow, 16th August
This path is far less wide than the statutory width. As a consequence when I walked through it at 8.45 this morning I got soaking wet, despite it being a very fine morning. My trainers were soaking and gave me blisters before I reached my destination. Had it been a wet day I would have been prepared, but hitting so wet this morning was solely because the storm grass overhang the path was meeting from one side to the other

Heavy goods vehicle and spending causing house vibrations, 23rd April
Since the A27 road works and the diversion through Berwick station we have seen in general an increase in vehicles going through the village. Even thou the diversion has long gone the traffic remains. With the general increase we've seen an increas of speeding cars and heavy good lorries coming through the village in the evenings. We can often feel vibration in our house with such vehicles and last night we felt the house physically shake. Because the road is slightly higher than the house foundations and the age our house (build with floating foundation) I'm concerned about the impacts of increasing traffic on our house.

Traffic erroding grass verge, 8th March
Due to there being no kerb ( there is a kerb further North) large and small vehicles are driving past each other and running over the grass verge Thus reducing our verge /pedestrian pathway. This has caused a runway for water and debris which is over running the drain and running on to our property. This has been a worsening issue since lockdown and the very many diversions which send traffic up Station road. You can see the tyre treads in the mud and where the verge edge used to be.
