Very dangerous collection of potholes. Causing vehicles to either brake very sharply to reduce impact, or to cross over double white lines onto incoming traffic. Issue present for 4+ weeks, getting worse daily.

2 x bollards vandalised and missing, 25th April
2 X bollards have been removed. This now means that vehicles will be parking up on the pavement again and endangering pedestrians. Also cars parking here blocks the view of cars pulling up of Keymer Avenue at an already dangerous location.

Deteriorated road surface across carriageway., 25th April
Deteriorated road surface with potholes across the westward direction on the A259 Brighton Road, Newhaven East Sussex, approaching Upper Valley Road. Potholes unavoidable using a motor car, that jolts the vehicle's suspension. Also very dangerous for motor cyclists. The unattended potholes have been here for some length of time.

Broken inspection cover, 24th April

Double yellow lines worn away, 24th April
End of Balcombe Road at roderick Ave junction out side good companions pub double yellow line have faded away so vehicles park right on the corner which is nearly causing accidents and if you turn into Balcombe Road and vehicles coming other way you haveto back back into a main road or visa versa.

5 inch pot holes, 19th April
These potholes have been here for over 6 months and are getting worse . The concrete road is sinking and looks like it could crack open any day ! There are more potholes further up at the junction which are bad !!

Truly shocking series of deep potholes, 18th April
How can you possibly have failed to repair the deep potholes west bound before the traffic lights at Upper Valley Road? Two weeks ago there were temporary traffic lights to enable the repair of another pothole 80 yards towards Newhaven. It is long overdue that East Sussex Highways fully discharged their responsibilities.

Long, deep, multilayer pothole, 14th April
An elderly lady tripped at 4pm 13th April 2024 in this area and had to be taken to hospital in an ambulance. She had a cut on her chin, a graze to her knee, a very large wound on the back of her hand and blood coming out of both ears. There are marks around the pothole but it hasn't been filled in. Photos taken 6pm 14th April 2024. It's by the island bollards near Big Mouth on the east bound side.
