FIXMYSTREET IN BD23 3AR
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of BD23 3AR:
Very dangerous large pothole, 10th December
The pothole is on the A56 between Thornton in Craven and the junction to Elslack travelling towards Skipton. It is a very large and deep pothole near the verge on what can be a very busy 60mph road hence it is very difficult and dangerous to try and photograph. There is no footpath access to the location. It is a bit difficult to actually pinpoint the exact place as it is just over a slight brow. It's probably 12" X 12" and 3" deep.

Standing water on road - no gully or gully blocked, 9th February
The issue is that on this blind bend there has been standing water for a few months now. When it freezes it is extremely dangerous.
Exact location is just after the houses called "THE SCHOOL" or THE GABLES" after travelling past Elslack with Broughton church.
When the water freezes it turns the blind bend into a muddy ice rink. IT IS DANGEROUS!
Moreover, it is getting wider and wider as a result.
It either needs a gully digging or a pipe/drain putting in to remove the standing water maybe into a soak-away into the field below the road.
Its turning the road into a quagmire and its also dangerous to pedestrians if cars come on the blind bend.

Blocked Drain / Flooded Road Dangerous and up passable on foot, 30th March
The road here floods very high every time rain occurs and it's become very dangerous and inconveniance for the village. Unacceptable given its sometimes 2 foot deep and unpassable. It's about 20-30 foot long. Been several months now and it's not going to be long before someone is hurt or a child even dies. I say this because to pass on foot you have to walk near the edges if a car comes at the same time your not safe, seen and trapped.

Road Markings Worn, 22nd November
The road above Carleton, across Elslack Moor right over to the turning right onto Blearaside (Earby Turnng) the central white lines have worn - to a point where there is none for good distances. This road is notoriously severe in fog and regularly gets heavy fog. I have seen 3 near accidents with drivers on the wrong side of the road in the last week alone and there was an accident on this road last night. Could you please put white lines across this road and ideally have some way of marking the edge of road - historically there used to be snow poles along this road which were exremely helpful in fog. I am sincerely worried there will be a more severe accident on this road before long in fog.
