Huge pothole Egerton Road needs urgent repair, 13th February
Hole at least 25cm deep and 30cm across, encroaching into the main carriageway. Too dangerous to stop to take a photo. On left had side travelling towards Belmont Road. So deep and wide, now need to stop to allow traffic to pass in opposite direction. Road is narrow and very busy due to roadworks on Belmont Road.

Street lights not working, 18th November
Once again this same section of street lights is not working, this must be the third or fourth time it’s failed. On previously reported failures it takes many weeks before the problem is fixed, the lights then work for a short period of time before failing again!

Extremely narrow cycle lanes on a 50mph road., 19th October
This road, the A75 between Scout Road and Belmont, has been resurfaced, and new (replacement) cycle lanes painted. The cycle lane is 80cm wide for many lengths and rarely more than about 1 metre wide. The speed limit on the road is 50 miles-per-hour. The government guidelines (LTN1/20) state that cycle infrastructure on a road like this should be fully kerb protected (see LTN1/20 Fig 4.1) and separated from traffic by an absolute minimum of 1.5 metres (see LTN1/20 Table 6-1). These markings make the road more dangerous for people on cycles and need to be replaced or removed.

Very large and tarmac broken around it, 1st March
I hit a very large pothole at approx.6.30pm on Thursday 27th February very close to where the A675 road enters Belmont village.It was full of water so could not be seen in time to avoid it.There was a big bang and my passenger felt the brunt of it. We were extremely shocked and I am terrified a cyclist could be hurt badly by it. It had no white line around it to show council has spotted it. I drove to my destination very concerned and I had two new front tyres on and brakes discs recently so I think that may be what saved me from a puncture.I am going to get my tracking checked as I can't believe that I have got away with no serious damage. I am hoping to make a return journey to get a photo just in case anything more serious has happened to my car.

Large pothole disguised by lying rain water, 29th February
The position of marker is a rough estimate . It was approx 1/2 mile before entrance to sailing club driving towards Bolton . Lots of rain today 28/2/20 Looked like surface water but terrible bang . I had been diving nearer to centre line than the kerb and I “think” that has helped me . Further on , 3 other cars stopped with hazards flashing and people were out checking their cars and one seemed to be changing tyre . One car seemed to have called for help from others . 3 Clearly damaged or thought to be by pothole . It was 8.45 pm and dark . No photos taken . My car seemed ok , drove home slowly and having it checked in the morning . Very dangerous and needs immediate action ! Not sure whether Bolton or Blackburn council . Email sent to Bolton Council
