This area of road is very uneven and full of potholes and has been like this for years. It is a well used road for people from the local villages and also a through route to Wigglesworth and beyond

Shared use path overgrown needs regular mowing., 15th July
The shared use cycle path adjacent to the A59 linking Charburn and the Sawley turn off becomes overgrown each year and forces Cycists to use the dangerous A59. Mowing takes place at the roadside. Please can this be extended to include the path sides too.

4 inch hole with the surrounding round surface has sunk / sinking, 28th June
4 inch hole with the surrounding round surface has sunk / sinking. You can see into the hole which is deep ( 1 ft) and hollow under the road surface. Lots of heavy agricultural related vehicles use the road and therefore very good chance it will get worse very quickly and become even more dangerous.

Many potholes and road surface damage Sawley, 5th March
This damage has been here for over a year and is getting worse. It was reported at a joint Bolton-by-Bowland,Sawley, Holden village meeting with the County Council Highways Authority and Ribble Valley council over a year ago. The whole road near the junction of the Sawley road and the A59 is damaged and difficult to drive on. There are many deep potholes and the surface of the road is rough and uneven. The car wheels rattle and car judders it is so bad. I feel this could be causing damage to wheel alignment and tyres, especially if it is driven over as regularity as I do.

Multiple potholes on approach to junction from Sawley, 4th March
Repaired and re-repaired multiple times over past three years. Some vehicles are avoiding them by going to the opposite side of the road approaching a blind junction. Just waiting to see a collision.

Unsafe road conditions, the road needs closing or immediate repairs, 1st March
Pot holes have been there since Dec 2019 and are progressively getting worse. This means you have to drive on the other side of the road to avoid them, which is a danger in its self. The A59 junction of Sawley is very dangerous without these additional hazards.

Many pot holes increasing in size daily on Saley road going out of the village towards the A59. My wife damaged a wheel on this same stretch of road about 2 years ago which the council paid to repair. As the road is now in a very poor state it is likely we will have a similar problem sooner eatery than later. The road needs resurfacing urgently as the patching done last time is clearly not up to the job., 1st March

Lots of pot holes all along the road leading to A59, 1st March
There are serval pot holes along this road causing major issues to cars using this road . This problem occurs every winter . It really needs resurfacing rather than patching up each year

Road a danger and disgrace, 1st March
Dreadful road surface that keeps getting temporarily filled it, very dangerous as cars driving on the wrong side to avoid. One farm had very heavy plant wagons driving through continuous, When Sawley Hall was being built that also had heavy traffic for 18mths, all surrounding villages have had roads resurfaced. We pay one of the highest council bands and have to drive on this. This road is used by all villages as an access route.

Awful road surface with many deep potholes for about 100 meters, 29th February
The road surface has been of very poor condition for a number of years with deep pot holes filled every now and then but it is pointless unless the road surface is fully resurfaced as the potholes very soon reappear due to the high use of the road, especially by heavy agricultural vehicles. Many people drive on the other side of the road to avoid the awful surface and deep potholes - this is very dangerous as it is at the point where the road joins the A59.

Foot path very overgrown - dificult to walk along and has many brambles and nettles., 23rd July
The footpath from Chatburn along Sawley road, it very badly overgrown after the entrance to Ribblesdale Hall. It is difficult to pass and is overgrown with brambles and nettles. Its particularly bad for children.

Pothole / Manhole Cover, 4th January
The road surface has disintegrated and the sub surface is washing away adjacent to a large manhole cover. The damage has exposed a dangerous edge of the cover which may well damage a vehicle tyre.

Parking on the Pavement, 14th September
Everyday this blue Landrover blocks the pavement, and being disabled, and on crutches, I have to walk into the road. The vehicle remains in this position from 18:00 in the evening until 10:00 in the morning. This issue is very distressing for me. This has approximately been an issue for over two years. The driver as been asked politely, and he says he has the right to park on the pavement in this manner. Please see the attached pictures.
