Fencing between my land and the motorway verge is rotting and becoming unstable, 1st June
Just became aware of the problem. It is still standing but will get worse further and will eventually fall down. Small length of fencing at the moment but the longer it is left, it will start to loosen other posts further up the length of the land.

Unlocked doorway in motorway fenceline, 3rd January
A fenceline was installed as a wind/ noise barrier as part of the smart motorways works a few years ago. There is an unlocked access door in the hedge. We (Webbs Garden Centres) are about to install a solar filed on our land adjacent to this fence. Given the high value of the panels we want to have door locked to prevent access to our site from the motorway. is this possible please?

Debris and weed growth in gullies, 18th November
The lack of maintenance of the drainage systems on this section of the M'way (Jnc 5 to 4a) (and many others with the similar construction type) in the central reservation has led to the gullies becoming blocked / ineffective - resulting in flooding of North Bound carriageways (15/11/22 - Rush hour). From the maturity of the weeds (2ft+ tall) it is evident that the system has not been maintained for many months.

All signage on M5, both ways between Junction 4a & 7, 24th March
There is a confusing sign that is appearing on the information signs along the M5, both directions, between junction 4a and 7 minimum. The sign is stating ‘RED X INFORCE’ I believe this means the old hard shoulder should not be used, but there is no information displayed on ANY of the overhead signage for the smart motorway. Are these signs even working? I am concerned that no one takes any notice of this info sign and everyone continues to use the lane as the overhead signs are not showing anything. I am concerned someone breaks down and no one will read the info signs as they always give this statement no matter what time of day. If the overhead signs are not working should the lane not be removed from use until you can fix the smart bit of the smart motorway?
