Unsightly, lack of street cleaning - rubbish and embarassing to live on this street!, 4th December

Mon, 04 Dec 2017 20:17:20 +0000
54.377546 -6.016081

Over past number of months I have reported problem of street cleaning not being done out to the speed limit sign at Drum Manor on the Dundrum Road Dromara end of road. Examples of litter etc on just one walk last week, dog poo, broken glass top of Meadow Lane, rotting apples, empty plastic bottles and macdonalds boxes. The flower beds at top of Meadow Lane continually lie with rubbish covered in leaves from year to year. I asked to speak to someone few months ago and the Supervisor of Parks was supposed to look at the problem. Obviously didn't happen as nothing done. A few weeks ago I was put through to admin girl but was not given much confidence in anything being done as not given a reference number of no return phone call received back. The road is very unslightly, between bits of board, broken off branches and rubbish and just a let down to be honest. A number of months ago I collected a full bin liner of old rubbish from 2 flowerbeds either side of meadow lane entrance. Further to this the footpath is in a very slippery condition as a green scrum has built up on tarmac under trees. The paths out this road are regularly used and need regular maintenance, not just the centre of Dromara where the street cleaner seems to focus.
