Inadequate signage warning of hazzards and lack of road markings, 13th February

Thu, 13 Feb 2014 14:43:27 +0000
54.607966 -5.775828

Carrowreagh Road, Dundonald, is a frequently used road for commuter, farm and business travellers. It is also used by cyclists and walkers and has access to residentail and business premises. The majority of the road permits vehicles to travel at speeds up to the national speed limit without marked lanes and the majority of the road is without lighting and is prone to extreme weather conditions due to it's elevation. Considering the above factors a number of potential risks are present and should be urgently reviewed to avoid a potentailly serious RTI. Aas a minimum the road lacks a number of visual warning signs which put all of the above road users potentailly at risk. Specifically signage for 'hidden dips' is absent from any part of the road. Basic road markings with regard to lanes are absent. Slow signs at various points are also required considering the road layout. The above issues should be addressed. Thank you for considering what are potentially serious issues with regard to this road.
