There is a rail line running through the area, and trains are regular, running from Woolwich Arsenal station to Lewisham station. The area is also serviced by several bus lines, and is helpfully located near the A2, a major motorway which is the main route in and out of London.
There are a number of parks and green spaces in the area, with one of the main ones being the Southmere Lake. There are also a number of schools and nurseries located within the SE2 postcode.
Local amenities consist of a number of convenience stores, supermarkets, and a selection of leisure activities, such as cinemas and bowling alleys. There are also a number of gyms and leisure centres for those interested in keeping fit.
Unlike other areas of London, there is a distinct lack of tourist attractions within the SE2 postcode. That being said, there are a few notable sites, such as the Lesnes Abbey which dates back to the 12th century, and its surrounding woodlands. There are also a variety of local museums and galleries, such as the Greenwich Heritage Centre and the London Borough of Greenwich Museum.
