DN36 is a postcode district in the DN postcode area of the United Kingdom. It covers parts of the market towns of Immingham and Barton-upon-Humber in North East Lincolnshire. The postcode district is roughly bounded by the A180 to the north, the Humber to the east and south, and the B1212 to the west. It includes the western part of Immingham and the eastern part of Barton-upon-Humber, plus the village of Stallingborough and the smaller settlements of New Holland, Barrow-upon-Humber, South Killingholme, and Roxton.
The area has a population of approximately 13,000 people and includes predominantly residential housing and small industrial businesses. The district has a big employer in the form of PD Ports, one of the United Kingdom's leading port operators, offering integrated ports and logistics solutions. It operates four deepsea ports as well as terminals and services within DN36, the most important being the large Royal Dock serving the chemical tanker, container and bulk trades.
The DN36 district also has a small rural area in the north, stretching from Ingestre in the east to North Killingholme and New Holland in the west. This rural landscape is of low-lying undulating terrain, much of which is designated as agricultural land, although there are some small lake systems. There are also smaller pockets of wooded areas as well as several noted wildlife sites in and around the district.
DN36 has several schools, including elementary and secondary schools, both state and private schools. There is also a sixth-form college located in Immingham. There are a large number of leisure centres, sports clubs, and gyms in the district offering a wide range of activities for all ages. The postcode district itself is serviced by a comprehensive public transport system, with frequent bus services available between all parts of the district.
