CO3 is a postcode in the Colchester district of Essex, a county in the south-east of England. It is a large suburb of the town of Colchester, located to the south-east, and is known as a dormitory town, meaning there is a larger amount of people commuting out of the town into the city, rather than coming in from other places.

The area mainly consists of residential properties, but there are two large medical centres, Broomfield Hospital and Severalls Hospital. It also boasts multiple schools, including St Peter's, Philip Morant and Colne Community Schools, and leisure activities such as Colchester Zoo and Colchester Golf And Country Club.

CO3 is particularly known for being the location of Colchester Castle, one of the best preserved Normans castles in England, which dates back to 1076. The castle is open to visitors to explore the castle walls and grounds, and learn more about its history.

CO3 has excellent transport links to the rest of the UK, with regular bus services covering most of the town and the nearest train station just 20 minutes away. It's also within easy reach of Essex's main airport, Stansted Airport.

The town is particularly well known for its vibrant shopping scene, from independent boutiques to high-end retail outlets such as John Lewis, Waitrose and Primark. There are also plenty of places to eat, from traditional country pubs to modern, international restaurants.

CO3 is a great place to raise a family as there are lots of green spaces, parks and playgrounds dotted around the town, making it a great place to relax and unwind in the summer months. It is also a great place to live for keen cyclists with a number of cycle paths and easy access to flat, open roads.
