Smethwick fire LIVE as road closed overnight after blaze at scrap factory
A significant fire erupted at a scrap facility in Smethwick, causing a large plume of smoke visible from miles away, including Birmingham city centre. Smethwick shop fire causes 'gridlocked' traffic as road closes
A fire broke out on the ground floor of a three-storey mid-terraced shop in Smethwick, leading to road closures and significant traffic disruptions. Woman found dead in Smethwick industrial estate
A woman was found dead at an industrial estate in Smethwick, leading to a murder investigation. Police were called to Woodburn Road shortly after 06:10 BST on Monday. Efforts to revive the woman were unsuccessful, and she was confirmed dead at the scene. A police cordon remains in place as investigations continue. Authorities are appealing for information from the public.
