Police investigating an assault in Chester-le-Street
Police are investigating an assault in Chester-le-Street where two men attacked another man and reportedly threw a fire extinguisher at him. The incident happened at 9.30pm on October 15 on Front Street. The two attackers left their victim with serious head injuries. Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident to come forward.

Two wanted men arrested in Chester-le-Street after car chase
Two wanted men were arrested after a car chase on the A1(M) near Chester-le-Street. The men, aged 28 and 26, attempted to flee into nearby woodland but were apprehended by officers. A large quantity of cash and several weapons were seized from the vehicle. The men remain in police custody and will be questioned later today by the investigation team.

Armed police swoop on Chester-le-Street and close Front Street
Armed police responded to an ongoing incident in Chester-le-Street, blocking off Front Street and urging passersby to stay away. The road was closed to all vehicles and pedestrians between Cooperative Street and Station Road but has since reopened. A police helicopter was also spotted in the area. Durham Constabulary has been contacted for comment.
