Pothole on bicycle/footpath
25th June
There is a small pot hole on the cycle/footpath. It is alongside the A1237 on the orbital cycleway, between the river and the junction with the cycle path along the river. It has been here for several months and is getting worse. As it's on a foot and cycle path that is immediately next to and in very close proximity to a road with a 60mph limit, I am concerned that if it causes a pedestrian or cyclist to fall, they would fall into the motor traffic. The hole doesn't look large to a motorist, but could easily trip a pedestrian. Also, the hole is slot shaped which could easily cause a cyclist to tramline and fall off.

Pot hole repair failure
18th December
This was first reported 5th Nov 2024. Two repairs have been attempted. The latest has failed more quickly and a fracture along the length of the hole can be seen. York City Council have informed me that they are not responsible for the repair but have not shared what the investigation as to the cause is. It would appear to be a sub surface failure. The surface filling is not the answer as the previous attempts show.

Recent Repair Failed
6th December
This pothole had an attempt at a repair as reported on 5th November 2024. As the photos will show the road is damaged and the depression is worsening day by day. The underlying issue would appear to be significant and requires a robust investigation to avoid vehicle damage and threat to people crossing the road. The hole is 60cm wide and 8cm deep as at 6th December 2024.
