Missing bolt in swing. Canbury Gardens playground; also notice from
1st July
There is a missing bolt on one of the (older children) swings. There is also a stray notice on the ground stating that Glendale is aware there is a problem with the roundabout, but all the red & white tape has been removed, or blown off, so children are still using the roundabout.

Waste collection issue
25th June
As you can see from the photo, your waste contractors staff have spilt food waste after incorrectly loading the waste collection vehicle.
They have refused to pick up the dropped waste and have now moved on - this photo was taken after the event.
It is not fair that this has happened. Your Contractors staff regularly drop waste when they collect and its a complete disregard to the environment they are working in and the residents of Kingston.
As this is yet another example, please can you work with your contractors staff to be more considerate.

22 Homersham Road
25th June
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to report a serious environmental violation occurring at 22 Homersham Road where construction workers are daily discharging concrete waste and slurry directly into the public road gutters and storm drainage system.
Evidence and Location Details I have photographic evidence showing concrete slurry being washed from construction equipment and allowed to flow directly into the road gutters. This practice is: Occurring daily during active construction hours Causing visible discolouration and damage to road surfaces and pavements Flowing directly into the storm drainage system
Legal and Environmental Violations This practice violates several key regulations and environmental protections: 1. Storm Water Pollution Prevention Concrete slurry discharge into storm drains is prohibited under UK environmental regulations. Storm drains connect directly to natural water bodies without treatment, meaning this contaminated discharge will reach local rivers and streams untreated. 2. Water Framework Directive Compliance The UKs implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive requires protection of water quality in all water bodies. Concrete slurry has an extremely high pH (typically 11-13), which can cause significant environmental damage to aquatic ecosystems. 3. Building Regulations Part H (Drainage) Under Building Regulations, proper waste disposal systems must be implemented. The direct discharge of construction waste into public drainage systems contravenes these requirements. 4. Environmental Protection Act 1990 This discharge constitutes the deposit of controlled waste in an unauthorised manner, which is an offence under Section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act.
Environmental and Public Health Concerns Alkaline Contamination: Concrete slurry is highly alkaline and toxic to aquatic life Drainage System Damage: The material can solidify and block drainage infrastructure Surface Damage: The alkaline waste is causing permanent staining and deterioration of public highways and pavements Water Quality: Direct contamination of local water bodies without any treatment
Immediate Action Required I request that the Council: 1. Immediately investigate this site and issue a stop order for the illegal discharge 2. Require proper containment and disposal methods be implemented 3. Issue appropriate penalties under environmental protection legislation 4. Inspect and remediate any damage caused to public infrastructure 5. Monitor compliance to prevent future violations
Supporting Documentation As you can see I have provided photographic evidence and can direct officers to witness this violation during active construction hours. The construction company must implement proper concrete washout procedures using contained systems, as required by environmental best practices and legal compliance.
This is not merely a minor inconvenience but a serious environmental violation that requires immediate enforcement action to prevent ongoing damage to our local environment and public infrastructure.
I look forward to your prompt investigation and enforcement action.
Yours faithfully,
