Mercedes van parked causing a blind-spot, 8th November

Wed, 08 Nov 2023 16:59:14 +0000
54.554499 -1.552904

I'd like to draw attention to a recurring issue involving a Mercedes van that is regularly parked at the intersection of Camborne Drive and the beginning of Helston Close. The consistent presence of this van is causing a potential safety hazard as it obstructs the view, leading to near accidents. A significant number of residents in our area share these concerns, as this parked van creates a blind spot for drivers trying to navigate in and out of Helston Close. As a resident of Helston Close, the constant presence of the Mercedes van at the Camborne Drive junction leaves me consistently apprehensive about the potential risks. We kindly request that the parking of this van in this specific location be reconsidered. Our collective safety is at risk, and we hope that taking action now can help avert any potential accidents that may result from this ongoing issue.

Light timings need to be changed, 17th October

Tue, 17 Oct 2023 16:33:34 +0100
54.531201 -1.541209

Turning right into the college (unsure from the other direction), the timings only allow 3 cars to turn before going red. This causes long unnecessary queues and causes people to jump the lights, especially on a morning. Turning left from the college (Vicarage Road) to Haughton Road, the lights do not allow enough time for queued cars to pass through. People jump lights. Traffic from the right (from the old "Throughabout") often appears to jump the lights or the timing need changing to allow a bigger gap between them turning red and people exiting the college setting off.

Trench Failing, 2nd August

Wed, 02 Aug 2023 20:48:11 +0100
54.536418 -1.568637

Northern Power grid dug a trench across the road about 6 months ago during utility upgrades. The repair they did is failing leading to a sudden drop in the road which will damage cars if not repaired soon. Its like an inverse speed bump. Get Northern Power grid to do the remedial work as their repair was clearly substandard. Needs digging out and redoing not just tarmac slapped in it.
